I was surprised the thread took off so quickly if I'm honest...we got 8 pages worth of comments in about 5 hours...I didn't intend it to all be set up so quickly, it just sort of became evident after a couple of hours that people wanted the #10's contest first, although most people definitely wanted a foreign one at some point too :D

 

and the beauty of spin-offs is that if you don't like the theme, you don't have to take part but it won't spoil any qualification records...for example, I'd steer clear of Katherine's metal contest :heehee:

I am now scrolling through old lists of charts that I used to write down looking for decent UK #10's :kink:

:rolleyes: Some people are getting TOO obsessive about this. If you don't want to enter this theme, DON'T! Nobody's forcing you too! It's been said many time's before, it's JUST FOR FUN! There are more important things in the world to be thinking about!

it was the most popular choice...BJSC is a democracy and the most popular choice went forward

 

I've already explained in depth why it was closed earlier than expected, things change when demand is more substantial than expected

 

there are always going to be people unhappy with the theme chosen, it's the nature of the beast with themed contests

 

ultimately though, the moderator will still have the final say whether it even goes ahead!

also, listening to potentially 40 songs that most of us probably already know to some extent is probably a far less daunting task for our first spin off than listening to 40 foreign songs, which would probably be a good theme to do when we have a lot more spare time than 3 weeks...
