I'm rather scared to close this with a definitive answer seeing as it will cause so much arguments whichever one is chosen...

all I can suggest is that we do #10's this time (seeing as it is in the lead, even if Tom changed his vote) and do foreign songs next time and then reopen the nominations for the third one when the time arises with the added option of parody songs

would this please everyone or would people prefer something else?

Along with Acoustics/Candlelight Remixes  (Hands off Everytime We Touch :heehee:)

I know this just draws out the process but what about another poll with UK #10s vs Foreign Languages so people can only pick one or the other. (or null vote) I know most people are swaying towards the #10 songs at the moment but I'm starting to see TiP's reasonings. After all, "Say It Right" was the 2nd best record of the decade according to Buzzjack last year and "A&E" must be one of Buzzjack's favourite songs of last year. It just seems to me that this theme is far more tactical than usual, I'm thinking people will pick the mostly likely songs to do well than thir favourite #10 hits. But on the other hand I have no idea what foreign song to send so yeah...

Plus with foreign songs you could theoretically use a foreign version of an English song which means Shakira would not win. Whereas with the UK #10 game it is pretty obvious that the runner up in the 2008 Record of The Decade Game will win.

Is there really any need to drag this out? It's just gonna cause the same arguments in another thread and certain people arent gonna be happy either way....

I can't think of any good foreign versions of originally English songs...even Je Ne Parle Pas Francais' novelty wore off very quickly...I think people would be more likely to send songs that were originally in a different language

and La Tortura would surely be the instant favourite, whoever was lucky enough to confirm it first

the other way's fairer, it's a first to ten with the two options going head to head

How is it "Obvious"?? Not EVERYONE in the BJSC participated in that RotD game. I did, and I don't think I gave many points to 'Say It Right', so I don't see how it's going to be "Obvious" really...
