The Brothers Gibb (Barry, Robin & Maurice) experienced one of the most dramatic rollercoaster rides in chart history since the 1960s due to their stunning three part vocal harmonies & incredible knack for penning pop classics until the death of Maurice in 2003 when Barry & Robin decided the band was no more.

Were any of you fans of the Brothers Gibb's work or did you find their falsetto harmonies annoying?

one of the few groups who successfully changed their style, from great pop in the 60's to a guitar group who rode the disco wave when other guitar groups were going punk.

cant deny their success or songwriting abilities, however i only like (on a personal level) their early material. tracks like 'the first of may' , 'to love somebody' are extremely powerfully emotional... great stuff!

cant abide their falsetto 'stayin alive' era though, although that was their most popular.

They lasted the length of time by re-inventing themselves, rather than sing the same music all the time. I preferred their '60's output, but a few of the 70/80's stuff was ok.

I always wondered how Barry hit the high notes though
