Fronted by Damon Albarn this Colchester based band went on to become one of the most successful & important BritPop bands of the 1990s.

Are any of you looking forward to their reformation this year, or do you think Damon should have left the band in the past?

perhaps its a generation thing, but i never really liked blur as much as i should have. strange, i liked oasis, but blur didnt quite do it for me on a personal level. i like gorillaz and 'feel good inc' is one of my fav tracks from this decade.

but they did help bring 'britpop' and indie back into fashion, the sounds that are traditionally british pop music, to a new generation... so ill not knock them!

I liked Blur, one of the few bands from the 90's I would listen too. The videos you listed are all my favourites. Always preferred them to Oasis.

Comparing Blur with Oasis is almost like comparing Roxy Music and Slade in the early 70s.

Oasis produced singalong anthems (fantastic ones though) while Blur always seemed to have more nous about them.

And they did kick off Britpop with the rather ace Popscene. (Virtually ignored at the time though)

 what a good analogy! well said!
