what an excellant little combo... danish indie group whos track 'around the bend' is currently being used in a tv add... nokia or summut..

'The Sun Ain't Shining No More' is pretty decent...

I KNEW I'd heard that song on the iTouch before. Kept thinking it was No Doubt. Another band re-releasing a single within 6 months of first release...oh dear.

Boasting more Summer goodness than a Goombay Dance Band comeback gig at a holiday camp in the Bahamas, The Asteroid Galaxy Tour follow up their well-received debut `The Sun Aint Shining No More` with a track one part Nelly Furtado`s `Turn out the Light` to another Stevie Wonder`s `Superstition` that combines a killer chorus with singer Mette Lindberg`s truly unique vocals. If a criticism can be levied it`s that the production sounds unnecessarily clunky and both `Around the Bend` and third track `Satellite` would benefit from the smoother style shown on middle track `Push the Envelope`.

 

THE ASTEROIDS GALAXY TOUR - 'THE SUN AINT SHINING NO MORE'

It`s probably just as well that the sun aint shining as, by the sound of this, Smash Mouth are still walking on it Yes. melodically this does seem to owe a debt to that particular US act so beloved of the family soundtrack, but thankfully there`s a whole new dimension afforded to this by the sassy swing-shuffle and cod-John Barry instrumentation. Amy Winehouse and Duffy fans will lap this up in the short-term but you really do have to ask, as you do of countless acts these days, would they sound like this if it wasn`t so bloody `in` to do so?

i really like 'around the bend', the use of brass is something not heard much these days..

oh lord.... you know the goombay dance band? one of the few acts so bad they make the saturdays look sophisticated? :lol:

Of course - Germans pretending to be from the Carribbean or whatever, the very poor man's Boney M...Seven Tears? Oh, so many more were shed, so many more.
