Oh dear! I do like The Garden ... but I think its a bad choice for a single ... at least Said It All does stand up as a single (maybe not a chart-topper, but a single nonetheless).

I'll tell you what though ... I'm really liking Hold Up A Light more and more now! This would have been a good release in Germany ... and possibly a third UK single release.

Actually that were also my thoughts. The Garden would have been great as a first single choice - you know: "the new TakeThat - all of them sings...buy the album to convince yourself". But this is a too strange song to do now well in charts. I even don't think they will get a video, exactly like for ReachOut. At least ReachOut was a song who could appeal also to non-TT fans... This decision surprise me very much and very negatively... I don't see that the Garden is more for Germany as "Up all night"...

I was thinking also that "Hold up a light" would be the best choice for Germany. Oh well, i rest my case. They should go off from Polydor /Universal. I don't want to think that they must do with them a third album - i predict a very "radio-friendly" album with very little space to improve.

Release date will be according to Universal Germany 20th March

I have no idea why they have choose "The Garden" - but with Universal over here nothing is surprising me anymore

One reason could be that this song has got a lot of great credits at reviews - and I think it could be with the right promotion a radio hit - it has does bits why songs got played. And with the song being involved all four you can build a nice story around, first time all four again since NF and so on.

And well Universal even didn´t thought of sending informations out until today - thinking that we already had heard the song as the radio stations are having the song since Friday. Nobody from the german board has heart it until today

Thats why we started our own radio campain - as if the songs gets airplayed we hope that enough people will hear and knew that TT are having a new single out - at least a radio hit as nothing.

And as Howard was blaming the label aswell for the lack of right promo the lads has noticed that the europe sucess is not going the right way - if they just would open their mouth and would say something about that - but well

Will post here the same as I have post at a few other bords aswell -would be great if you all could join in

*****************************************************************************************************************

Universal Germany confirmed today that the 2nd single of the Album "The Circus" will be in Germany "The Garden" instead of "Up all night" like in the UK.

All we know at the moment is a possible release date as the 20th March -but not 100% confirmed.

As soon we have more informations about whats on the single like B-sides, where to order or pre-order it I will update the thread

The radio stations in Germany are having the single since Friday - but we haven´t heard it since then on the radio - and thats why we need your help.

Howard was recently talking that the whole group is quite upsed that they are not getting that response from the record companys over in Europe for promo and so on - but they know that the fans are still supporting them there.

So lets get "The Garden" a huge airplay on th radio stations, so that people got knows about the single beeing out and its getting hopefull at least the TOP 20 or better.

So join the facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/edit.php?gi...gid=48644323785

What can you do?

Send mails to the radio stations so that we can get "The Garden" known and played which should leave them to play it more and more, and people who hear it to buy it when its out.

What to write - well at best in German of course?

Hallo,

ich möchte mir gerne von Take That die neue Single "The Garden" wünschen.

Viele Grüße

I also start to think that Universal is only after quick money but they don't give too much to build or help an act. They use the hype for an act and at the second album they seem to let the artist down. No wonder that music is going like is going and the charts are half full of crap and of acts who don't survive too long.

TakeThat should come here and do something extravagant, something which will make everybody talk. But i have not really an idea what...giving a gig in front of Bundestag perhaps? :D Or doing a duet with some german darling (do we have something like that ?). Or a video with Heidi Klum :naughty: .

i like the garden alot myself and t is a good choice as single but i do agree some promo in germany wouldnt go a miss

TT are rumoured to take part by Wetten Dass, ein german show, one of the best for promotion here. If they really come there (are rumoured for 21 March), then the chances of The Garden are doubled!

That would be the really promotion i was hopping for so long. :cheer: ( I only wish they would sing live, but as far i know they have always mimed at this show... )

You might be pleasantly surprised then. Here they are, on wetten das, singing live on Gary's birthday, January 2007. Back for Good and Reach Out - definitely live - I watched it when it was first on.

Oh yes, the eyebrow :naughty: .

That will be magic if they sing live ! Let's hope is true (mind you, i don't make me ilussions this show would be enough to bring them far, as Reach out was also in this show and not so far in the charts). BUt if they do a couple promotion more and some interviews in quality magazines, the situation could get on the better side for them

Yes - but they performed Reach Out on this show in Germany in January and yet I believe the single was't released there until June ... so its no wonder that the sales couldn't play on the performance - too much time had passed. I think the performance of Reach Out was to publicise the album not any singles at all.

Fingers crossed it does ok ... or at least generates more sales of the album.
