Ah right I see. So has it been confirmed that A.) he's had/got cancer in this film and B.) has undergone Weapon X treatment? I didn't know he had anything to do with Weapon X and thought he was a vigilante of sorts - how silly of me!

Weapon X tried to cure his cancer using something to do with the Wolverine healing factor, but he was nothing before that, so i dont know how he would have such a big role pre-scars in the movie.

the movie looks pretty $h!t imo anyway, and looking back the X-Men films arent really up to standard, decent comic book movies FTW. (like TDK style, its werid how 'The Dark knight Returns' comic book by Frank Millar upped the comic industry, helping it aim at more older audiences, and then the same happened with 'The Dark Knight' film, but with comic book movies rather than comic books.

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner has confirmed that the X-Men: First Class film will be a prequel to the Marvel movie series.

Speaking to Comics Continuum, Donner explained that the project will focus on the formation of Professor Xavier's school for mutants and some of its early residents.

"It is the first class of Xavier's school, way back when, so it's young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that'll be really fun," she said. "I think [the plan]is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world."

She added: "And hopefully First Class will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up."

Gossip Girl and The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz has been commissioned to write the script for the movie, which will continue Fox's $1.2 billion franchise.

Saw the advert for this in the cinema last night, looks incredibly $h!t.
I just read about the X-Men: First Class thing and am unsure. I always thought this is what they should have done with the X-Men films in the first place: with Spiderman and Fantastic 4 (as far as I'm aware) they stayed faithful to the comics, but with X-Men the team was just a mish-mash of the most popular characters. In the First Class film the team should be Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast and Jean Grey, which was the original team, but I worry that only Iceman and Jean have 'cool' powers. Also I worry that they're going to make it into a more of a teen soap opera rather than a comic book film. In short, I'm interested yet deeply worried!

lol not really faithful :( acth Spiderman wasnt that bad until the 3rd one, but F4, especially the second one, :puke2: not faithful at all really.

but X-Men is definatly the least faithful.

also it seems the are making First Class into more of a teen drama thing :/

X-men First class sound slike it'll be craptacular

it needs to be the original 5 x-men

i hated that the x-men films were not faithful, the whole Phoenix thing was rubbish, a big missed oppertunity for an

amazing film

I saw this tonight and quite enjoyed it.

I haven't seen any of the other X Men movies or very many comic book films. The other two being both Fab 4 movies.

I saw it on Wednesday when they had a sneak preview. It was better than I had expected, I'd give it 2½ stars out of 5. I usually dislike prequels but this worked just fine. Loads of action, short running time and so on. Of course there was nothing great in this film and I do think all three X-Men films are better than this but anyways nice no-brain entertainment.
Saw this today and loved it. Waaaaaay better than the terrible X Men 3, but not as good as X2. Explained a lot and I always thought Wolverine was the best X Men character.
Saw it Wednesday and loved it. Good balance of emotion and action and Hugh Jackman did a great job. The only slight negative I have was that it seemed like Wolverine vs Sabretooth every 5 minutes and looked like it was the same scene time after time  But other than that (and

what they did to Deadpool

) I thought it was great!

Aah! The Vonderful Nightcrawler!

i'd pay to see that

x-men origins: second genesis when storm, nightcrawler etc joined would be another cool movie

I really want to see this, but mostly for the half-naked Hugh Jackman :kink:
