Gary Go is really terrible, don't see the attraction is him. Seems a bit pointless having GaGa supporting Take That, she is much bigger than they are right now. :P

Maybe ... but I wouldn't want to bonk her!

"Bigger" is something very relative. She is "in" at the moment. Let's speak about "bigger" in ten years.

Also do you think she can sell so much stadium tickets by herself in UK? I think she is very clever for doing this support. Apart from very few acts, who are sooo established it would wonder the people why they have to support someone, every other act can feel very well supporting TakeThat, who appart of their music are very known for their live shows. So, for GaGa it is no shame to support them, she is still very "young" on music scene and has only to win from it.

I don't think she will be around in 10 years or even be around for a second successful album but right now she is the biggest thing is music. I never said it was a bad thing she is supporting Take That, I just see it as a bizarre choice, I doubt there are many cross over fans. When she supported the Pussycat Dolls, that was a much more likely match.

I'm glad Take That have invited such a big name as Ga Ga. I've been told she puts on a good show and it proves just how unfazed Take That are in having someone who really has the potential to 'out-do' them. You say that there isn't much of a match - and yet when I've seen Lady Ga Ga - I see her wearing the same outfits and doing similar dances to what the Take That crew did during Give Good Feeling on the Beautiful World tour over a year and a half ago. OK - maybe Ga Ga had that image going before - but no-one had heard of her (over here anyway) at that time. I think you have this impression of Take That sitting on stools and singing ballads a-la Westlife ... but you couldn't be more wrong - they do one of the most energetic, calorie consuming acts I've ever seen - and sets that would leave acts 15 years their junior just gasping at.

Either way - I know I'm going to enjoy the whole show. I normally skip the support acts - but this concert is going to be well worth the £53 I spent on my ticket! Twice!

Maybe I just worded everything wrong. I've been to a Take That concert before so I know they know how to put on a show. I just don't see how Lady GaGa will be able to enhance Take That or vice versa. Someone like Gary Go is far more suitable as they will have similar fanbases, with GaGa you have a load of screaming under 20's whilst generally Take That concerts will contain the slightly older generation.

Well, put it like that, you may be right. But while GaGa fans are not TT fans (like i read on her forum) it could be that some TT fans will become GaGa fans, so she will have a chance to win people - it is always good to try to show your music to other people as your normal fans who comes especially for you. At least i like her more that she doesn't see as a low to be a support act now that she has success in charts.

For some reason i have the impression that the supporting acts are choosed more to please a male audience as a female one  .

I am not too old to like her, i don't think the problem lies here, but her music style is not what i like.

Well I'll be one of the 'considerably' older Ga Ga enthusiasts in the audience!

When you say you went to a Take That concert - was it from this time or the first time in the 90's. Because I never went to earlier ones - I only really got into them this time (although I reluctantly admired a few songs from the first incarnation). I was however, surprised at the number of girls in the audience under 20! Mind you I was surprised at the number of males in the audience over 30!

Iris - you're spot on about the Ga Ga choice - in that it will partially have been brought in to please the male element in the audience too (which now makes up about 25 - 35 % of a Take That concert audience).
