February 5, 200916 yr I wonder what corny cover version we'll be forced to suffer, this time? :puke2:
February 5, 200916 yr I wonder what corny cover version we'll be forced to suffer, this time? :puke2: :o This year it's The Saturdays covering Just Can't Get Enough. Can you please look around before.
February 5, 200916 yr :o This year it's The Saturdays covering Just Can't Get Enough. Can you please look around before. Oh dear....I sense "Walk This Way" level of sales....... If you're gonna go down the cheesy cover route, at least choose a cheesy song to cover.
February 5, 200916 yr :o This year it's The Saturdays covering Just Can't Get Enough. Can you please look around before. Come on - He was only making a comment and wasnt to know there was a thread in a completely different forum regarding this! If people keep acting like this, the its gonna get to the stage where people are afraid to post incase someone snaps at them!! Anyway, i am really pleased 'Saturdays' are doing this, lets hope its better than GA Vs Sugas effort!! And didnt realise 'Westlife' sold so much :o
February 5, 200916 yr More to the point.....what song is Peter Kay gonna pop up with, putting the "official" song to shame?
February 5, 200916 yr it's not Peter Kay this year it's people from Gavin and Stacey, i think it's Rob Brydon and the Gavin's mum.
February 5, 200916 yr it's not Peter Kay this year it's people from Gavin and Stacey, i think it's Rob Brydon and the Gavin's mum. Its not Gavin's mum, its Nessa And they're covering Islands In The Stream which they already performed on the show
February 5, 200916 yr :o uptown girl sold a lot! I think sales will go down again this year to under 100k, charity singles seem to be turning a bit dead which i presume is down to the demise of the physical. I dont think downloading a song from itunes at 79p has the same ring to it. Plus, this will need to be a good cover, a lot of people consider depeche mode's version as quite sacred. I'm not sure how i feel about it.
February 5, 200916 yr Isn't the Gavin and Stacey one the official one? I see "dodgy cover as a charity single" is still high on the career path of pop groups today :D Now, what about these ones? 1987 - "Mel and Kim" - Rocking Around the Christmas Tree 1989 - Bananarama and Lanananeeneenoonoo - Help! 1991 - Hale and Pace - The Stonk 1992 - Mr Bean & Smear Campaign - Elected 1993 - Right Said Fred - Stick It Out 1994 - Pet Shop Boys - Absolutely Fabulous
February 5, 200916 yr :o This year it's The Saturdays covering Just Can't Get Enough. Can you please look around before. Before what - someone jumps down my throat over very little?
February 5, 200916 yr Isn't the Gavin and Stacey one the official one? Yes. Due to the past two releases by actual music acts not performing as well as the comedy release, this year the Gavin and Stacey track is the lead Comic Relief single and the one that most news reports have picked up on.
February 5, 200916 yr  What? The sturdays are doing the main official comic relief single, thats why they will open the show with their performance. Edited February 5, 200916 yr by andyboiuk
February 5, 200916 yr Before what - someone jumps down my throat over very little? You're right to be angry. I was an avid reader of this forum then made the leap and joined around Christmas time but it's starting to get ruined for me by the constant snapping of other members. That and all the Saturdays/Girls Aloud/Sugababes/any female group or singer posts in every forum. Would I be right in presuming most of the men are this site are gay?
February 5, 200916 yr The best Comic Relief single was Bananarama with Lanananeeneenoonoo...(a la Franch and Saunders and Kathy Burke).... surprised it's not one of the biggest sellers, too, it was top 3 in an age when singles sold far more than they do now.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJY7KW_YAac...feature=related
February 5, 200916 yr Plus, this will need to be a good cover, a lot of people consider depeche mode's version as quite sacred. I'm not sure how i feel about it. I'm pretty sure they don't. Depeche Mode are a highly respected act (and deservedly so) but this is seen generally as a dud among their back catalogue.
