Gosh I'm pretty behind in this, I'll have to listen to more later, the only song I've actually heard is the uk one :P

I must get around to rating them soon. I listened to Turkey again last night, and it's honestly not the best...

Turkey's is a generic rehash of everything that's done well in the last five years

 

other countries are moving in different directions and Turkey are sticking to the same tired formula...I hope it falls flat on its face but I suppose it's guaranteed top five

 

I don't dislike the song by any means, but a change in tactics would be welcome...I 100% expect Greece to stick to their usual formula as well

With Sakis it's pretty much a given (then again, he did cover Damien Rice).

 

I think Turkey's entry seemed good at the start of the season, and would have been good last year, but this is turning out to be a vintage and really exciting year...

I agree, and I'm hoping that the juries will help to weaken the diaspora vote a tad...

 

I will actually be devestated if Waldo's People and Brinck flop

TBH I don't think Brinck is THAT great. It's good, but it's like an Irish entry from the late 90s. Mickey Harte or something... Totally agree about Waldo's People though, and France really deserves success too...

Yeah, Mickey Joe was 2003 for us. It wasn't a bad song, but I don't know what the hype was about. :P Binck's song might get to the final, but I can't seem to like it...

 

I despise Turkey's entry. I really do. I wish they'd change their style. I liked their 2008 entry because it was rockish, and their 2004 entry was great (I <3 Ska!). But if I see another belly-dancing wannabe I'm gonna scream :(

 

I don't expect much from Greece. They seem to be copying what Russia did. And they think they're going to win. I hope they don't... I've never liked their entries. :P

 

It'll be an absolute joke if France don't get into the top 10. It's one of the best so far by far.

Hungary and Belarus still not in this list as i didn't hear the entries :o

It's too early for me to put any songs into either of the extremes I think, and since it's first listen most of them are just in the Alright section. But I really like the Malta song on first listen :wub:

Jade Ewen is head and shoulders above the rest for me atm. The performance on Malta's national final is excellent, and the song sounds so much better... can't wait to hear the final recorded version!
