Armenia's song I really can't get into but a few people seem to adore it on this forum and others
the Montenegrin song is actually absolutely excellent isn't it :o top 5 beckons I hope
Have the final versions of every entry been released yet? If so, could someone direct me to somewhere I can get them all at once? ^_^ (by PM, of course)

You could try allkindsofeverything.ie, but that takes a while as you have to download them all one by one...I used torrentz.com and searched 'Eurovision 2009', if you know how to use torrents ;o

I could've sworn I made a topic about this last night but hey-ho... I got Just Get Out of My Life played in a club last night! Muahahahaha what a song. :D

:o where the hell were you that would play that!?! I swear I saw a topic about it actually, was it called 'OUT OF MY OUT OF MY LIFE' or something similar? did somebody delete it

This really is a VERY underwhelming year for the ESC in my opinion - there aren't that many AMAAZING songs on first listen compared to last year, when I could easily pick out 10. ANYWAY:

19/3/09

Stunning [5 stars]

01 - Norway (utterly fantastic blend of modern and traditional influences)

02 - United Kingdom (by god, the studio version has DELIVERED! :yahoo: I'm now feeling VERY confident that the headlines on the 17th May will be lauding our first top 5/10 since 2002...but that this is still evidence of political voting because it was ALW and should therefore have obviously won :manson:)

03 - France (fantastically moving - I'm a sucker for chanson done well!)

04 - Ireland (ahahaha, this song is so Miley! :heehee: easily the best Irish song of the past 10 years...2003 pales in comparison)

05 - Greece (I loved Sakis in 2004, but Shake It didn't age well at all...I couldn't stand it by the time 2005 came around, but this will very easily stand the test of time for me - and well done to Greece for ditching the formula! I was half expecting another Yassou Maria tbh...thank god we got a male 'Shady Lady'! :heehee:)

06 - Moldova (discounting Greece, the best Eastern song of the year! I hear Shakira in there...)

Amazing [4.5 stars]

07 - Iceland (absolutely fantastic, quite subtle - I was about to say that this wouldn't do a thing but remembered the juries!)

08 - Spain (the best thing Spain have done in quite a while as well! I adore Soraya, her album's very good and this should return the Spanish back to the top ten...)

09 - Sweden (not the best choice that Sweden could've made - EMD, Caroline or Alcazar would've been a lot better - but provided Slovenia and Estonia get knocked out at the semi stage this could go down VERY well - as long as they don't realise what a rip-off it is :heehee:)

10 - Switzerland (doesn't actually sound like an ESC song at all - wouldn't sound out of place on the radio actually!

11 - Albania (provided the accent isn't too terrible, that chorus will be an absolute KILLER translated!)

12 - Germany (oh my...this is even camper than Hungary's offering! I'm actually embarrassed to enjoy this so much )

13 - Turkey

14 - Denmark

15 - Azerbaijan

16 - Croatia

Very Good [4 stars]

17 - Andorra

18 - Russia

19 - Hungary

20 - Romania

21 - Armenia

22 - Slovakia

Good [3.5 stars]

23 - Malta

24 - Finland

25 - Cyprus

26 - Montenegro

27 - Ukraine

28 - Lithuania

29 - Netherlands

30 - Poland

31 - Portugal

32 - Estonia

Average [3 stars]

33 - Israel

34 - Bosnia-Herzegovina

Poor [2 stars]

35 - Bulgaria

36 - Slovenia

37 - Serbia

38 - Belgium

Atrocious [0 stars]

39 - Czech Republic

40 - Belarus

41 - Macedonia

42 - Latvia (Latvia confirm themselves as my least favourite nation once again after last year's blip of acceptability...)

Montenegro sounded alright at first, but GOD the verses are awful - I find it so cringeworthy when singers just sing identically to the instrumental :/

you found Wolves Of The Sea acceptable :heehee: I usually respect Latvia for trying out different things but this is one hell of an exception, terrible song :puke:

I'm still trying to envisage what Caroline Af Ugglas would have been like on the Eurovision stage...I think it would have sunk right to the bottom of the bookies odds but could have been a dark horse I suppose...Alcazar would have done a Euroband, Mans would have done a Hero and EMD I just don't know...top 15 maybe!?! Malena's there best choice I think

I agree with you about Ireland, and would be annoyed if it didn't make the final...Sakis' song does remind me more of Hero than Shady Lady though

and I fully expect Montenego to be in your top ten favourites after the contest has finished :P

I eventually found WotS acceptable enough to let it go top 15 in my chart...

Caroline would've definitely had to go Hungary '07 to do well...and I doubt I'll end up liking Montenegro, those verses just make me cringe so much :(

Wolves Of The Sea spent ages in my chart but never troubled the top 20...it had a hilarious charm to it though  they were truly awful live though, such excruciating vocals :puke:

Magdi was so much more bluesy whereas Caroline is more folky...I know she is the closest Eurovision comparison but I still can't see much normal similarity...it's like comparing Chrissie Hynde to Janis Joplin

Agnes' vocals weren't very good in Sweden, she kept missing out words in her song and sounded very 'diva' with the backing vocalists filling in for her all the time :( good song though, it could have come low top 10 for Sweden I suppose...

Agnes wouyldn't have 'owned' the stage. She'd have done poor. I agree with Rich :( But the song itself is quite good ;D

I'm not fussed on Montenegro....it sounds like a watered down version of Shady Lady.

Apparently it is written by Ralph Siegel and Berndt Meinunger under different names....

it's like a cross between Hot Stuff and Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya) = excellent
