OMG. I think I've gone all Eurovisiony now, busy browsing and downloading the entries. Only about half way through. Favourite atm is Poland, her voice is amazing! The song is stunning such a beautiful ballad in comparison to Malta's fall-asleep-one, Sweden and Switzerland are a bit overhyped, IMO.. And Moldova, urgh. Like 'Fairytale' though, which should please Pavel :o

My top 5:

 

1. Norway

Such a charming song, addicted to it now. One of few male vocals I've actually liked. Catchy and yet extremely traditional. Love the background music just as much as Mr. Rybak.

 

2. Albania

Mega song and a mega voice, never quite known such musical talented existed in such a small place. Immense song, did something to me immediately on first listen so should really well.

 

3. Israel

Extremely varieted and typical Israel. The song as a whole is excellent and at least she spun some English in it for language barrier. Should grow on me majorly, too.

 

4. Poland

Takes a few listens to appreciate her voice - its STUNNING. Such an untypical super ballad, we need songs like these on the chart and tbh $h!ts all over Leona and the so-called mega vocalists. :heehee:

 

5. Finland

Superb song, but not so original, typical europop but with a little modern twist. But still very good.

 

I haven't felt anything else quite overwhelming after listening to each entry at least two times or more today. Sweden and UK are extremely overrated IMO, and Czech Republic was definitely the most unbearable of the bunch. Ireland had no ethnicity at all, without knowing it was Ireland I'd think it some trashy American hopeful but it isn't, it's Irish. .? Slovakia went completely overboard and nowhere with the song and France was pretty disappointing too.

I agree. Although I like the song, it's just not Irish at all. But last time we tried something traditional, we came last...but that was partly down to her singing, which was more like howling. :lol:

Iceland's ballad is FAR superior to Poland's IMO :o
