February 17, 200916 yr LOL Poor Belarus :( On the second thought - they are not. :heehee: STOP SENDING CRAP! :( Belarus had one of the best 3 songs in 2007 :o Work Your Magic  I believe I used to describe it as 'the best Bond theme that never was'
February 18, 200916 yr I don't believe I've done this yet. OK here are my rankings so far. 1. UK 2. Germany 3. Iceland 4. Netherlands 5. Denmark 6. Cyprus (I've yet to hear the much talked of live version) 7. Montenegro 8. Malta 9. Andorra 10. Turkey 11. Finland 12. Moldova 13. Lithuania 14. Albania 15. France 16. Romania 17. Poland 18. Slovenia 19. Belarus 20. Armenia Didn't realise how many songs I like from this year's selection. Notice how western Europe's offerings are steamrollering eastern Europe this year. Surely even Rich and Trash will admit something is wrong if they all finish bottom of the pile again this year. This list will probably change alot though as I'm still getting to know the songs chosen in the last week or so, and obviously Norway's selection is bound to have some impact since it will obviously be Alexander

February 22, 200916 yr thinking about it seriously, aren't the Eastern entries largely awful so far this year...in contrast to the brilliant Western entries confirmed so far...makes you wonder if it's all some sort of ploy to see if the eastern countries will end up at the top again to prove all of the political voting theorists right :heehee: still, I'm sure Russia and Ukraine will pull something special out of the bag, they rarely disappoint
February 22, 200916 yr Ukraine could still pull something out the bag, Russia just need another entry in the Dima/Serebro mould to confirm a fourth top three in a row methinks...top five of UK/Russia/Norway/Ukraine/X I reckon!

February 24, 200916 yr Don't worry I was actually talking about the other Rich. I'm awaiting the wrath...last time I suggested that it may be slightly inbalanced I was told that it is people like me and Terry Wogan who are bringing the contest into disrepute in this country... I hardly think we're in the same catagory! oh right my mistake :heehee: I think anyone who denies that there are at the very least friendly allegiances going on in the voting is mad...even Ireland and the UK happily swap points no matter how dire the respective songs are (unless they are Dervish :P). I wouldn't go as far to call it 'political voting' as people don't vote on a song based on the politics of another country I wouldn't have thought, but there is definitely something going on when nearly every country gives a large amount of points to the country next door, and it's certainly just not down to shared music tastes, or else the UK would always be near the top seeing as we give Europe their second biggest source of international new music besides the US
