Posted February 6, 200916 yr As a fan of AI I would say that this season's coverage by ITV2 is really poor so far. What do you think? There seems to be more ad breaks than programme. Last night it started at 8.01 and at 8.08 there was an ad break. That's a mere 7 minutes of the show. This ad break lasted until 8.13 that's a full 5 minutes. I know that ITV has to have ad breaks but it's now getting ridiculous. Originally there were 3 ad breaks during a 1 hour programme and they lasted around 3 minutes each. Now they have a least 4 with them lasting around 5 minutes. They never used to put trailers of other programmes in the middle of a programme, only before and after. There were 5 ad breaks last night, and we only got around 40 minutes of the actually show. I think it's scandalous. 10 minutes of this were taken up with trailers. All this after ITV1 viewers were up in arms about missing the goal near the end of a football match. I remember a few years ago they put an ad break on during the last lap of a F1 race and viewers missed the end. I'm going to time it exactly to the minute tonight and let you know the result tomorrow. Edited February 6, 200916 yr by Euro Music
February 6, 200916 yr i dont know but it seemed to me last night that the adverts lasted so long and the show wasnt on that long before another ad break came.

February 7, 200916 yr Author Friday's show Started 9.01pm First Break - 9.07pm - AI - 6 minutes Break ends - 9.12pm - ads - 6 minutes Second Break - 9.24pm - AI - 12 minutes Break ends - 9.29pm - ads - 5 minutes Third Break - 9.43pm - AI - 14 minutes Break ends - 9.49pm - ads - 6 minutes Show ends - 9.56pm - AI - 7 minutes That means out of a 1 hour show - AI was on for 39 minutes - Ads 21 minutes. I think it's just diabolical. What's going to happen to the live shows - knowing ITV probably an ad break mid-song. Edited February 7, 200916 yr by Euro Music
February 7, 200916 yr Thats cos in america ad breaks are so frequent and because its the audition rounds and has already been edited to a huge proportion, they are not allowed to mess with it. But once the live rounds begin, there will be less ad breaks..
February 7, 200916 yr If they are gonna have so much time for ad breaks (which is really p***ing me off), they could at least get rid of the mini spoiler before every break. I hate those things anyway and it would mean more time for the actual show.
February 7, 200916 yr The ad breaks have been annoying but for me, so far this series has been amazing !

February 9, 200916 yr You're a sad w*n**r if you've actually taken the time to calculate this. Imbecile. Yeah, that was really needed. :/
February 9, 200916 yr In this case why doesn't ITV schedule the show for 50 minutes and have shorter or fewer ad breaks Shorter is an option.. Fewer however isnt. They cant edit it otherwise they may seem impartial... Like i said once the live rounds start, then they edit it..
