February 11, 200916 yr It's now #44 on the HMV download chart. Well Done to his fans, but HMV download sales make up just a small percentage of overall chart sales. He's not in the itunes main chart, and it looks like he's been taken off the Radio Two playlist. No doubt Simon Cowell and Syco will be grateful for the extra income though (however small), especially as they didn't have to do any work or spend anymore money. But sometimes if you're a fan you've just got to try I suppose.
February 11, 200916 yr i can see it doing well. Unfortunately for Leon i think he'll be dropped soon.
February 12, 200916 yr Author Well Done to his fans, but HMV download sales make up just a small percentage of overall chart sales. This is a good point. Does anyone know the HMV share of the UK download market? I found by googling that iTunes share of downloads was 80% in 2005 in the UK, and 60-70% in 2008 in the US, but no recent figure for the UK, and HMV had 1% of the UK download market in 2005. Unfortunately, the fact that HMV have a low share of the download market would explain why the fans campaign has a bigger impact on their charts. Edited February 12, 200916 yr by phantom34
