March 17, 200916 yr This is really quite fantastic but it does remind me of several songs at once - I'm reminded of Caught Out There in the delivery of the verses oddly enough! I can't put my finger on many of the other elements... It is the first song of her's though that sounds like it's been crafted with a smash hit in mind. I don't know whether that's a good thing or not though...
March 17, 200916 yr The Fred Falke Remix is fabulous. Both are nice, really. I still have quite low hopes for the album though...
March 31, 200916 yr Artwork out WOOO http://www.wmuk-apache.co.uk/littleboots/images/LittleBootsNewInTown_small.jpg http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7474/littlebootsnewintownsma.png Quite fab :o
April 4, 200916 yr Author CD 1. New In Town 7" a) New In Town B) New In Town (Franz Ferdinand Mix) 12" Mix Disc a) New In Town (Drop The Lime) a2) New In Town (A1 Bassline) B) New In Town (Golden Filter) b2) New In Town (Den Haan) Just a general Hrrm =\ @ this. It has such dire lyrics and is just so...SAFE compared to the rest of her material. It's also wayy over-produced (esp the new and final edit). I like her but she's obviously way more capable then this fodder shows (or does not show as the case rather is). Bimbo Jones is also on the remix =S

Bimbo Jones is also on the remix =S I wouldn't say it's safe compared to all of her other material. This is, obviously, quite mainstream but her two safest songs are "Every Little Earthquake" and "Mathematics" imo, but I can see what you mean. Along with "Ghost", it sticks out most out of the songs I've heard most but I think it's because they seem different in style, rather than sounding safe or mainstream. I don't think the version of "New In Town" I have is the final cut, hope it's not too bad, I thought it sounded fine.
April 5, 200916 yr Woahz. IMMENSE song this is. Easily a top 5 peak imo, it's going to gain loads of hype etc. And seeing La Roux's doing so well with INFTK - quite an average song, this should be even more successful - making the BBC sound of 09 connection. Great artwork too, and spot on tracklisting. Exciting about how successful these lengthhly hyped artists are now becoming. Little Boots 'specially. <3

True, but I didn't expect anything else from her after hearing she was working with Dr Luke.
April 6, 200916 yr This isn't Dr. Luke produced Ashley :P Unless you meant that you expected something safe after hearing she was working with Dr. Luke, which you probably did in retrospect. Silly me :heehee: Just a general Hrrm =\ @ this. It has such dire lyrics and is just so...SAFE compared to the rest of her material. It's also wayy over-produced (esp the new and final edit). I like her but she's obviously way more capable then this fodder shows (or does not show as the case rather is). Bimbo Jones is also on the remix =S It's definitely the first of her songs that sounds like it was produced with a HIT in mind, but I'm not quite sure how to respond to that tbh  Still a tune though.
