The album IS flawless, the only track I'm not so fond of would be 'Need U Bad', everything else is quite sensational. . The album really suits the 2009 sound imo, blends in classical and dated samples creating an almost classical urban feel, yet really modern. The album peaked at #6 in the US, selling 418k so far and she's released 'Need U Bad' and 'Bust Your Windows' over there, both making the top 40. 'Lions Tigers and Bears' is the 3rd US single with the video premiering just a few days ago and it should become her 3rd hit single. 'Dream Big' is set for release in the UK as the first single in mid March. 'My Foolish Heart' was made available for free download on UK iTunes a few days ago, as well. I'm quite disappointed with the single choices. Ideally I'd prefer it to be: 1-Bust Your Windows, 2-After The Hurricane, 3-One Night Stand, 4-Dream Big. The first three being my faves from the album. Each song is completely unique from another so the album really is world class but takes a $h!t load of time to grow on you. Opinions - Edited April 17, 200916 yr by Kathh ·
February 10, 200916 yr I love 'I need u bad' ... is that not a good indicator for what the rest of the album is like?
February 10, 200916 yr I haven't listened to this that much but when I did listen to it I remember really liking it. She reminds me of Alicia Keys at times.
February 12, 200916 yr I have a friend who I trust implicitly as far as music goes. I heard half of Bust Your Windows and based on that and her recommendation, I got this yesterday, I look forward to listening to it tomorrow!

I heard half of Bust Your Windows and based on that and her recommendation, I got this yesterday, I look forward to listening to it tomorrow! I reckon you'll like it, she's the one someone one here said is the better version of Alexandra Burke. I think, vocally, she definitely has more of an Alicia Keys sound to her. I love 'I need u bad' ... is that not a good indicator for what the rest of the album is like? I think Katherine was a bit exaggerated, I wouldn't say every track is totally different. If you like "Need U Bad" you'd probably like the album.
April 4, 200916 yr Author Dream Big video; Lo3DR0jDsLU It's barely been playlisted yet though, and with that and the first promo coming on GMTV on the 11th where she'll be performing a few tracks.. It's not looking so great on iTunes for Dream Big just yet. :( she's got a live appearance on Radio 1 due some time though, so hopefully the public will start buying the single sooner or later ..

It's a shame, looks like Jazmine isn't going to do well here at all. :( I'm not sure "Dream Big" was the best choice, I think something like "Call Me Guilty" could have done a bit better. She basically is like another Alicia Keys, to the extent where I get confused if some of her songs pop up on shuffle.

She has the appeal and the album is top quality, if she could just crack a B/C-list with Dream Big and she just might after her live appearance then sales would begin taking off. Especially because it's her debut, it won't start selling early where if it were the likes of Rihanna/ Alicia Keys it would. It just depends on the public and the promo really, she could have Jennifer Hudson-esque success. . I agree on your poin t about 'Call Me Guilty' though, or 'After The Hurricane' would be even better imo, it's got commercial success written all over it, seeing how rnb female artists go more with ballads as first singles for success (Beyonce - IIWAB, J-Hud Spotlight etc) ..

It is, very strong throughout. Just seen it's been put to download only though, it was alright for JHud, but it's not gonna work for Jazmine. She wont break the UK then...so disappointed. "After The Hurricane" probably would have been better I suppose, "Call Me Guilty" is about killing someone of course, can't see radio playing that - slightly too dark.

Hmmm, I wouldn't say it's completely over already. No promo, pretty much nothing known about her, so without that there will be no airplay or sales so once she's got her butt up there, everything might just fall into place, you never know.. I doubt the public will ignore such talent, her music is really better/in the same class as Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and the other more recent RNB successes. Speaking about success, 'Dream Big's back on iTunes at #238 :snif:
April 5, 200916 yr Oh I forgot I ever posted here. Amazing, love her, SUCH a quality album. I would have picked this as the single, but even though it's seeming to fail, it's not over for her IMO
April 8, 200916 yr Oh no, it was SO instant to me! Loved Bust Your Windows, Call Me Guilty, Dream Big, One Night Stand, Fear, Switch on first listen!
April 8, 200916 yr Author It took me at least a week to get into it actually, was hooked on Bust Your Windows at the time, which also took me ages to get into as well.. The album is one of those rare quality albums that was made with no intention in being catchy or anything so it's definite to be a grower but if your the type who sits by your radio the whole day, then it's not for you.. Bust Your Windows and Fearless didnt get grammy nominations for nothing you know ..
April 17, 200916 yr Is the UK still getting Dream Big first? It should be Bust Your Windows. :( Amazing album! Cannot get enough.
April 17, 200916 yr Im really not sure. She needs to start promoting QUICK. But man, I am HOOKED on. In love with another man. Even as a straight guy its just too AMAZING too emotional to ignore, lol. 3The_d-Tkg0 Shes just too much.
April 17, 200916 yr Is the UK still getting Dream Big first? It should be Bust Your Windows. :( Amazing album! Cannot get enough. The UK already got 'Dream Big' first. Digital release only, the EP was already put on iTunes. Flop. :( Shame really, she's another Alicia Keys. "Call Me Guilty" and "Live A Lie" are my favourites on the album, "Bust Your Windows" should have been released instead at least. She didn't get a proper launch here...
April 17, 200916 yr Author Well actually 'Need U Bad' was released digitally last year in the UK.. But 'Dream Big' is what's meant to give her a grounded debut, thing is the album was released globally all on the same day, so that's a major downfall for her UK success as well.. And 'Dream Big' is literally nothing with no promo and Radio 1 airplay. But a re-release of the album along with 'Bust Your Windows' should pick her up, would be a great idea, Radio 1 is likely to play a song that was grammy nominated anyway.. Where 'Dream Big' is probably seen as some demo or something, so sad its flopping. What a waste of money the music video was then, unless it gets a release in the US, where it would have charting and sales success..
