Deloitte set for EUK stock sale?

10:38 | Wednesday February 11, 2009

EUK administrator Deloitte is reportedly planning to auction off the contents of the company’s warehouse this week, including 2.9m CDs.

Cue Entertainment reports that Deloitte is accepting offers for the stock and has sent a list of its contents to a number of retailers and overstock specialists.

As well as creating a headache for labels, such a sale threatens to further drive down CD prices, to the detriment of the retail sector.

The warehouse also contains 1.1m games and 1.8m books.

EUK was placed into administration in November after problems at parent company Woolworths. In December Deloitte started the process of winding down the company, after failing to find a buyer.

Deloitte did not comment by time of publication.

Whsmiths have stopped selling them

Same down here (Medway area - Chatham), they removed all their entertainment stuff, our WHsmith had 2 levels, ground floor and 1st Floor, now everything is on the ground floor and cluttered, and no one is allowed upstairs apart from staff.
