Posted February 17, 200916 yr So one of my favourite new dramas of last year starts up again tonight  http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/content/images/2007/12/03/mistresses_lead_396x222.jpg Starring (l-r) Sharon Small, Sarah Parish, Shelley Conn and Orla Brady as four friends who all have slightly spasticated love lives. Trudi (Small) is a mother of two daughters. She is dating Richard who also has a daughter. Her previous husband was considered dead after 9/11 but eventually she discovered that he was alive and trying via his partner to con her out of a load of cash, so she shopped him to the police. Katie (Parish) was a GP until she was discovered to be having an on-off affair with one of her patients Sam - and it so happens that she was also a devoted mistress to Sam's father John who died of a long-term illness. Was found out and is now single again. Jessica (Conn) works as an events organiser. In the last series she fell for another woman whose lesbian civil partnership she was helping to organise, but she got cold feet and Alex (the lesbian) got bored and decided to carry out the marriage. Jessica is sort-of seeing her boss Mark. Siobhan (Brady) is a lawyer who had an affair with her colleague Dominic which results in her getting pregnant. When her husband, the caring Hari, found out, he couldn't handle it and left her, but they eventually got back together. That's basically a summary of what happened last series for anybody who didn't watch but has been hooked in this time by the fabulous advert! 9pm tonight (and future Tuesdays) on BBC1.
July 9, 200916 yr BBC announces final series of 'Mistresses' Thursday, July 9 2009, 16:48 BST By Dan French, TV Reporter Mistresses is returning to BBC One for a third and final series, it has been announced. The final instalment of the show - starring Sarah Parish, Sharon Small, Orla Brady and Shelley Conn - will consist of four hour-long episodes with a focus on love, betrayal, loss, and forgiveness. "Mistresses - The Last Act is a final four-part special event that will bring the stories of the four mistresses to a dramatic conclusion on BBC One next year," said Ben Stephenson, controller of BBC drama commissioning. "Simply and elegantly bookended by a mysterious glimpse into the future, all the four women will be returning - Katie, Trudi, Siobhan and Jessica - with new and sometimes shocking stories." The series will start filming in Bristol later this year and is due to broadcast in 2010. Such a shame! I am glad they decided to end it with another mini series and not just leave it though! (I didnt see the point in starting a new thread for this btw lol, dunno if anyone is interested..)
