February 18, 200916 yr What a huge mistake performing Greatest day why on earth havnt they performed up all night,,i have to say im so so so disappointed with this just have to wait and see if they get an award now i must add they have got the best of reception o fthe night so far though Apparently there is supposed to be some stupid rule that an artist cannot sing a new/forthcoming release (but I don't think there is such a ruling ... there used to be years back but I'm sure it doesn't exist anymore). I knew quite a while back they weren't performing UAN - a total wasted opportunity. Also - towards the end of the performance - it did look like they were miming ... but not at the beginning strangely enough (Gary's voice was a bit off at the beginning). Mind you ... it looked like the start of this Pet Shop Boys performance was mimed! I'm not sure I believe Tennant's voice would remain unchanged after over 10 years! Anyway ... Ant & Dec on Saturday night and GMTV next Monday morning. U2 where crap! Coldplay were great. Duffy was OK. Ting Tings & Estelle were awful. All in all a pretty $h!tty night! Glad Elbow won. And Kings of Leon! Norma
February 18, 200916 yr Author over all the show was muck i really enjoyed looking at Kylie!! I hate duffy so wasnt happy with er wins,,tings tinsg with estelle was terrible,,i also though pet shops boys mimed in parts lady gaga looked hideous i was delighted with kings of leon winning and so disappointed with coldplay geting nothing although iwas so happy to see girls aloud finally win a brit award anyhow sat nite takeaway is great promo for up all night and like wise gmtv and top 5 at the worst here they come!
February 18, 200916 yr I've just seen it again on ITV2 - they definitely sang the first half live but then as the spaceship thingy touched the ground it switched to recording (or at best at backing track). Really very miffed ... they don't need to do this. BTW Pete - I am deleting a certain person's posts (I don't even read them) I just see his user name and delete. Believe me ... I have my reasons ... he constantly brings Rob into it and then slags Take That off. Well I've told him ages ago what I'd do ... he's more than welcome to slag them off in the Rob forum or in the main forums ... but not here. I hope I have your backing on this. Norma
February 18, 200916 yr Author Of course you have my backing 100%,i dont mind people saying they dont like certain songs etc as we all do that but we dont need someone who blatantly does not like take that and forever wants to live on dreaming rob and take that hate each other when we know they dont so i 100% am behind you Norma
February 18, 200916 yr Here's something from The Sun already ... and they've brought you-know-who into it again! Anyone would think he'd invented flying saucers! They don't bother to say about how Gary has been a Star Trek fan since he was a kid (they even brought the USS Enterprise into the Beautiful World tour because of him). http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...icle2251442.ece Norma
February 18, 200916 yr Author at least though they are still positive about take that which is good even if they cant let the robbiw thing go,,i have to say as much as i was disappointed they sang greatets day i think they got the best reception of the night the crowd seemed to have went crazy for them

Very disappointed ... and if they mime on A&D on Saturday I'll be well peed off! Because we know they don't need to! Norma Edited February 18, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
February 19, 200916 yr Author i would hate then to mine on ant and dec as one we so know they sing live brilliantly and also i so perfer them live than studio as they brings songs so much to life when they sing live
February 19, 200916 yr I posted earlier on this thread and have to ask why my posts keep getting deleted? Is it because I am Chinese?
February 19, 200916 yr I have been reading the Take That forum for a little while now. I have been a fan since I saw them on the Concert for Diana. I watched Take That's performance on the Brits on youtube as I live in the US. I don't know what to think of it. I don't understand why they didn't sing the entire song live. If there was some technical reason they couldn't then that is fine. I have high hopes for Up All Night as it is my favorite song on The Circus! So glad to hear they are going to do a little promo for it.
February 19, 200916 yr I posted earlier on this thread and have to ask why my posts keep getting deleted? Is it because I am Chinese? Phil it is because at some point or another you bring Rob into the conversation and then slag off Take That - constantly going on about how great he is and how crap they are! I'm going to leave this here for a day so you can see the answer then I'm going to close this topic. If you look back at the last conversation we had going I explained this then. Fair enough ... if you want to slag Take That off - do it in one of the general forums (you'll have loads of folk who will be only too willing to join in.) Likewise if you wish to eulogise about Rob ... do it in the Rob forum. As a matter of courtesy ... I have not posted in the Rob forum since wishing folk there a happy new year at the start of 09. It was my new year resolution as I seldom have anything nice to say about him. I'd rather he was not mentioned here from now on. He has nothing to do with Take That. I hope this explains everything. I hope you saw the youtube clip I posted in the thread entitled 'Coldplay' - where Gary was singing with Coldplay at the Warchild Charity gig. They've got some TV appearances coming up soon so I hope you'll be able to catch them on youtube. Norma
February 19, 200916 yr I was disappointed that Take That mimed as well, but it was still a brilliant performance. The PSBs were definitely miming too, but they were still rubbish (imo) I was hoping that the reason for the miming was maybe Gary having a bad throat or something, but as he was singing at the warchild gig later, it can't have been that. Maybe it was just the stage set they were using, and there was also a 30 second time delay which may have made it look worse than it was. Please god they'll sing live on Ant & Dec
February 19, 200916 yr Norma, I did see your thread of Gary singing with Coldplay. I loved it! My husband laughs at me every night while I am on the computer looking up Take That on youtube. I tried to explain to him that they are famous - just not in the US. I don't think he believes me. I did catch him singing the words to Patience the last time I had it playing though. Thanks for keeping everyone updated on their TV appearances, etc.

Please god they'll sing live on Ant & Dec Thank you so much ... I was too frightened to post it in the main forum ... but I thought the Pet Shop Boys were miming too ... certainly for the first part of their performance. After twenty odd years, one's voice does change, and yet his seemed exactly the same as it always did. With regard to Take that - they only mimed the last bit of the performance - and it was at a change in the set up - but it still puts a black mark against them (even in my eyes). There is no reason for them not to sing UAN live (they did so on their TV special and it was great). Norma

February 19, 200916 yr I am the victim of racial discrimination. I feel I am being picked on because I am Chinese. I am a BIG fan of Take That and am not a fan of Robbie Williams particularly. I saw Gary Barlow in concert in Bournemouth and have frequently praised him. I write songs and Gary Barlow is my inspiration. But no matter what I post it is deleted. Now I am told this thread will be locked for some odd reason. This is wrong. All people should be treated the same no matter what colour their skin. Please let me know if you agree with me. I am going to create a poll on the general topics asking what others think about this situation.
February 19, 200916 yr By the way, my name is not Phil. Yesterday I made a post and wrote that the UFO thing looked like a dig at Robbie who it is reported has become a UFOlogist. Further I said that Take That should not let him come back because he will steal the publicity. Funny how that is twisted around to make it seem like I hate Take That. Nothing could be further from the truth. Then another post on the new single. Unlike some, I did not criticise it. I liked it. Post deleted. I could go on about all the posts that keep getting deleted, but as I say this is not right to pick on one person like this.

I am going to create a poll on the general topics asking what others think about this situation. I'm not going to get into an argument with you. But in a previous post - linked to below - when was asked what makes TT work - you regaled us all with tales of Rob's solo success and Take That's failures. Fair enough ... we know they didn't make it solo (Gary Barlow being crucified by the press didn't help, neither did comments by your hero) but I'll give you that. He is a superstar ... but this forum is not about him. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...28686&st=20 - page down to the comments you made on Jan 6, 2009 at 04.36. Apart from this ... you made snide remarks about Take That's 'Take That Comes To Town' gloating that this was no 'Robbie at the Albert Hall' - despite the fact that viewing figures (thanks to recordings, satellite, watch again, etc) have declined over the years. If you are a Take That fan ... you certainly don't seem like one. It has nothing to do with criticising Take That - I've criticised them many times, for choices of songs, a couple of awful songs on The Circus, the part-miming bit at the Brits and their lack of promotion in Europe. No-one is saying you can't criticise them ... but you ALWAYS without fail - bring Rob into it at some point ... and as I've said. He has NOTHING to do with Take That. If you want to talk about Rob and Take That - then join the official Take That site ... www.takethattv.com And please don't talk about discrimination - its total bollocks and you know it - how the hell does anyone know each other's nationalities on here! But once again ... I just think you're winding us up. :) Norma Edited February 19, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
