Posted February 18, 200916 yr How good is it seeing IRON MAIDEN win a Brit award?!!! After being SO good for so long they deserved this. Voted for by the fans as well! X
February 19, 200916 yr Throughly deserved, and great acceptance speech. Surely one of the best British bands of all-time, up there with Zeppelin and Sabbath.
February 23, 200916 yr Author How good was that acceptance speech haha?! Definately up there. UP THE IRONS. Edited February 23, 200916 yr by bellaroo
February 23, 200916 yr It's a totally appropriate award as well... Maiden sound sooooooooo much better live than they do on album (and the albums are great).... They put on the absolute BEST shows, the bigger the arena, the better they sound.. This is probably on Brit award that I cant really argue with..... Now, howabout we all start lobbying for them getting a Lifetime Achievement Award... Who deserves one more than Maiden.....?
February 23, 200916 yr Well, Black Sabbath haven't gotten one from The Brits yet, which is a disgrace tbh. The award is 'Outstanding Contribution To Music', and who has done more for metal than Sabbath?

February 23, 200916 yr Well deserved Seen Maiden live a few times, all but 1 in the Paul DiAnno era and they were AWESOME live
February 23, 200916 yr ...maiden. Errr i don't think so, Sabbath almost single handedly created heavy metal. Without Sabbath i doubt very much you would of had Maiden. Sabbath laid down the foundations for every other metal band to build upon.
February 23, 200916 yr Exactly. I actually prefer Maiden over Sabbath, but when you're talking 'Outstanding Contribution To Music', you can't deny that Sabbath are up there as one of the most influential bands of all-time. They're arguably up there with The Beatles and Led Zeppelin in terms of influence.
