Posted February 19, 200916 yr Once again a little late but been a tad busy - you know how it can be! This weekly chart is done under a points system, I've taken the Top 100 Singles and Top 100 Albums and given an artist points for where they appear in each chart - 100 points for No.1 99pts for No.2 down to 1pt. for No.100 Obviously if artists appear more than once then they get points for each time they appear. Once all the points are added up I'll put them into a table and do a top 40 - in the event of a tie the artist who has a song/album higher in the charts comes first. 01 01 Kings Of Leon - 342 02 06 Take That - 284 03 02 Lady Gaga - 278 04 03 Beyonce - 261 05 07 Killers - 255 06 05 Alesha Dixon - 250 07 04 Akon - 239 08 08 Saturdays - 234 09 28 Lily Allen - 221 10 09 Katy Perry - 215 11 10 P!nk - 214 12 11 Rihanna - 202 13 12 Britney Spears - 194 14 15 James Morrison - 192 15 18 Coldplay - 184 16 13 MGMT - 183 17 --- Fray - 176 18 14 Pussycat Dolls - 172 19 17 Script - 170 20 21 Jason Mraz - 167 21 16 Girls Aloud - 165 22 20 Kanye West - 161 23 26 N-Dubz - 146 24 19 Ne-Yo - 146 25 23 Leona Lewis - 142 26 --- All American Rejects - 136 27 25 Bruce Springsteen - 130 28 30 50 Cent - 123 29 33 T.I. - 123 30 24 Fleet Foxes - 119 31 --- Airborne Toxic Event - 117 32 31 Jordin Sparks - 113 33 32 Seasick Steve - 111 34 22 Elbow - 109 35 36 Lil Wayne - 108 36 --- Justin Timberlake - 108 37 --- Duffy - 102 38 --- UB40 - 98 39 39 Eminem ft. Dr Dre - 97 40 --- Luther Vandross - 97 I actually had to do a recount for this because some of the results were so surprising this week (like Take That being so high and Elbow's big drop after last week's big climb!) but this is correct, Take That are back in the Top 3 and are closing in on Kings Of Leon pushing Lady Gaga down to No.3! As mentioned Elbow drop down 12 which I personally think is a shame. Also a big mover, unsurprisingly though is Lily Allen who makes the Top 10 due to the release of her album. A record 7 New Entries make the chart this week, including a return for Duffy at No.37 and headed by The Fray at No.17 meaning that the following 7 artists leave the chart: Franz Ferdinand (27) The View (29) Snow Patrol (34) Daniel Merriweather (35) White Lies (37) Tinchy Stryder ft. Taio Cruz (38) Kid Cudi vs Crookers (40)
February 19, 200916 yr Thanks! I think after the Brits, KOL are guaranteed another week at number one on this chart...
February 20, 200916 yr Author I would agree - although I think Take That could make it once their new single is officially released
