Hi,

 

I recently got into this band after they appeared on the latest Skins ad and just got their 'Hush' and 'Citrus' albums. I'm loving the trippy vocals over the epic sounding guitars and synths.

 

I perused the band on the internet last night and stumbled across a remix of their song 'Familiar Light' by 'Twins' (you'll have to search it cos I'm apparently not allowed to post links until I get 5 more posts).

 

It's pretty cool, definitely worth a listen but not as good as the album.

 

Has anyone else seen the ad?

 

What's your favourite Asobi song?

 

Do you know if they play alot in the UK?

 

Also apparently they're 'Shoegaze', does anyone know what Shoegaze is?

 

I saw them live last week - they were supporting Howling Bells.

 

I bought Citrus ages ago as I liked the single Strawberries.

 

Unfortunately 'live' the music is great however her vocals were not strong enough.

 

Asobi Seksu aren't really about the vocals though are they? Very few songs (especially from their new album) are vocal led and most have the music over the vocals. 'Hush' is good but I prefer 'Citrus'.

BTW... Shoegaze was a music term penned in the late 80's,90's

 

Think Ride, Curve, Slowdive, Cocteau Twins etc..
