Next week Prodigy could shake up the chart a little bit, Sasha is coming back, but also former number 1, Polarkreis 18 have a new single, although only a limited edition.

The week after will be interesting too with new releases from Lady Gaga, U2, Die Toten Hosen and Silbermond.

Britney's Circus could appear in the chart in three weeks time together with Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry and maybe Dizzee Rascal (Dance Wiv Me)

Very boring german singles chart.

They've never been interesting to me.

Yan's German chart comments - Issue date 20.02

No changes for a fourth consecutive week in the top two places of the German singles charts, occupied as before by James Morrisson, Nelly Furtado i Mando Diao.

The biggest new entry of the week, quite surprisingly and to my greatest delight, comes from Razorlight, and the pilot single of their third album "Slipway Fires". So far their best performing song in Germany is "America", reaching #37 in 2006. So I've never expected the amazing "Wire To Wire" to chart so well in the top 20. Still, having in mind the recent success of The Killers and Snow Patrol, I think that's not so strange after all.

The next highest new entry comes in at #15 by Peter Fox."Schwarz zu blau", a tribute to Fox' hometown Berlin, is the follow-up of his already massive hits "Alles neu" (peak #4) and "Haus am See" (peak #9 - achieved this week!!!). The good placing of the third single from his debut solo album "Stadtaffe" (with a platinum status and current #1 in the albums chart) can also to be attributed to the song's participation in the Bundesvision Song Contest. Its actual winning on February 13, 2009 will perhaps boost the sales further. Whether it will be able to surpass "Haus am See" and enter the top 10 is to be seen.

Nine places below Peter Fox enters the latest from the one and only DJ Oetzi. This time around he teams up with Kate Hall - Danish singer and former fiancee of German singer Ben. "Traenen" is the first single of the Austrian after the super huge "Ein Stern" which for now fails to make it into the top 10.

For those wondering who Matze Knop at #34 is, Google says he is a German TV and radio presenter and comedian...

Among the other new entries let's just mention Frauelein Wunder's best single so far at #61 and the mega flop of Vanessa Hudgens "Sneakernight" at #98 (yes, it's only on downloads for now but I don't expect her to climb much higher). Definitely Vanessa is no Ashley as long as the German charts are concerned.

The biggest new entries in the album charts come from BeFour's fourth album - "Friends 4 Ever", which manages to beat the #10 peaks of the group's two previous albums but is still far from the #1 success of the #1 debut "All 4 One". The guys and girls have released the four albums in less than 2 years! The other new entry in the top 20 comes from Lily Allen's second album at #17. Strangely it may seem, but her debut "Alright.Still" has never charted in Germany...
