OK. Today I had this idea and I was thinking if it's just me that somentimes remebers classic acts when watching the nowadays artists...

I was watching Rihanna - Rehab video , and I noticed quite a big similarity in her look and style with Gabrielle (the one that was singing "Dreams" in the 90's) :teresa:

Same, I saw "Hot'n'Cold" ands Katy's song remembered me quite quickly Meredith Brooks - Bitch.

Open discussion topic... Do you find style or music similarities from nowadays to the past artists? :rolleyes: xox.

To a certain degree this happens to most artists. Manufactured artists are always based on the model of another act that is similar to them that have been successful generally.

 

And most artists and bands that come through on their own backs are generally influenced by older iconic bands such as Joy Division, The Beatles, The Kinks, Led Led Zepplin, The Jam etc. - with some bands it's more obvious than others (White Lies, Joy Division - The Enemy, The Jam etc.) but generally with most artists that are around at the moment (especially the newer ones that are just starting off...) they'll have based their routes on an already exisiting band.
