dont get me wrong, i love her and i think it is amazing the way she can command such amazing demands - but lets keep track of her 'room filled with fluffy puppies' demands

Mariah's Ridiculous Demands

There's nothing more amusing than a B-list star acting like a Queen and issuing ridiculous demands.

This is the position that Mariah Carey has put herself in after news of her recent trip to London.

The singer was due to stay at the Baglioni hotel in Kensington, where her entourage had booked 15 rooms...

However, the hotel had foolishly forgotten to roll out the red carpet flanked by the correct large white candles - at 2.15 in the morning.

This oversight was so appalling to poor Mariah, that she had to suffer the indignity of driving around the block in a cavalcade of limos until everything was in order.

Her aides had rocked up at 2am to check everything was set for her arrival, when they were met with ordinary pavement and lighting.

Clearly this wouldn't do, so hotel staff were summoned to rectify the situation - as Ms Carey will not step on a dirty pavement.

But once the plush red rug was rolled out and the big fat candles were lit, Mariah finally turned up to take residence in one of the 15 rooms she'd booked.

"It's not unheard of for us to rush a red carpet out for a guest," the hotel's operations manager said.

"We're used to dealing with high-profile guests and everyone has their own requirements."

Mariah, who flew over to the UK on a private jet, is in the country to promote her latest album.

wow that was around the time ITL was released, and she even went on trl and said 'do u think I care what im walking on at 3 am after being on an airoplane' Sure, she's a diva, but she's worked hard, and she deserves to be  And im sure the media go ott over her, like they do with every other star

That red carpet and candles thing was a load of crap. I had friends waiting at the hotel when Mariah arrived.

A few years ago, there was a party in London to go with the 'Boy' single release. The next day, the papers reported she had to be carried up the stairs after saying "I don't do stairs" when I witnessed her walking up them myself!

It does seem like it's a fun thing the media like to do, they do it with all mega stars, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Madonna etc
She plays up the whole diva image thing cos she finds it so funny, I think. I've seen her be really down to Earth.
 The media have their fun. I've never believed anything in the gossip part of the show business section of the news and I never will. :arrr:
