Posted March 16, 200619 yr Goodrem counts her lucky stars March 16, 2006 - 12:35PM Had she missed her cue, Delta Goodrem may have been feeling a little worse for wear today. But she hit her mark and wasn't hit by a firecracker and didn't suffer smoke inhalation from her performance at last night's Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. "Luckily, somehow they just didn't get me," said Goodrem today. "I was convinced something was going to hit me but they had fire extinguishers and oxygen masks side of stage and it was all ready to go if anything should happen." Goodrem sang Together We Are One, a song she penned with Brit Guy Chambers and boyfriend Brian McFadden. The song was written especially for the ceremony. While singing, Goodrem was surrounded by people on rollerblades, carrying backpacks with fireworks shooting out. Viewers watching the ceremony on televison couldn't see the singer because of the thick smoke. "I thought I wasn't going to be able to sing with all that smoke, that was my biggest concern," said the 21-year-old. "I thought I would notice it more on my voice but I didn't breathe in any bad smoke." Goodrem is now based in New York and returned to Australia for the Games. The singer was to release an album in the US this year, a mixture of her two Australian offerings, but has pushed the date back. She's now hoping to release a completely new album. "I want to make some new music," she said. "I am waiting for the right time." Goodrem will spend the next two weeks with family and friends in Australia and is hoping to attend some of the Commonwealth Games events. "I love watching games and getting into it," she said. Also, Goodrem is on the publicity trail for the release of her fourth Delta by anabella lingerie range, which is sold exclusively at Big W. She will appear at Melbourne's Southland mall on Friday, and Sydney's Macquarie Shopping Centre on Saturday. "I have always had that one on one connection with my fans," she said. "This is my chance to see them."
March 16, 200619 yr Author Do you think this will be our 3rd album then? :o I don't care as long as it means new songs :cheer:
March 16, 200619 yr I was just thinking, if this is the our 3rd album how will they promote it because she'll be in US promoting it for a few months, in which time if it isnt released her most of us would have imported it. But at the same time if she released it here and Aus before the US that would cause a lot of controversy (sp?!)... Hmmm

Loads of acts do it
March 16, 200619 yr Yeah but you can't start a US take over and then spend half the time promoting in Europe and Aus, that would just be silly, she needs to stay there for at least a month...
March 16, 200619 yr Author Well, she could just release in Europe/Aus first and then America or vice-versa
