From esctoday:

The line-up for Russia's national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest to be held on 7th March has now been announced by the broadcaster. The 15 acts and their songs were chosen out of 50 that had remained in the running.

The line-up for the national final:

1. Alexa - Ne dumat o tebye

2. Breakdown - Breakdown

3. Valeriya - Back to love

4. Alexey Vorobyov - Heart hunting

5. Venger Collective - 9 o'clock Moscow night

6. Polina Griffiths - Love is independent

7. Kvatro - Lyublyu tebya

8. Thomas Christiansen - One more try

9. Princessa Avenue - Never, never...

10. Tim Rox - The happiest man

11. Anna Semenovich - Love lovila

12. Nikolay Fokeev - You can stop the time

13. Plazma - Neverending story

14. Nano - Triator

15. Unisex - Ai-ai-ai

The winner will be chosen by televoting along with a professional jury. Many star guests will be invited to the show, among which there are well known names to the Eurovision fans. These are the ex-participants who have already represented Russia: Dima Bilan, Yulia Savicheva, Alsou, Maria Kats, Natalia Podolskaya, the band Prime Minister and the band Serebro. The results of the voting and the winner will be announced shortly after TV-show ProgectorParisHilton.

Being the winning country of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest and hence host country in 2009, Russia is directly qualified for the final of the competition on 16th May.

That's a lot of songs :o

You never know, they could just have titles in English...

It;s very cool to see Valeriya there :cheer: Is Polina Griffiths the singer of A-Studio? In which case

Without listening to all the songs what i think:

1. Alexa - Ne dumat o tebye

TOO weak for ESC. HIDEOUS live! :/

2. Breakdown - Breakdown

3. Valeriya - Back to love

Could be very well, if she was chosen :dancing:

4. Alexey Vorobyov - Heart hunting

Haven't been chosen last year, although it was my favourite song from that selection. He won't go through too. But who knows... Yulia Savicheva, Natalia Podolskaya, Dima Bilan, Dmitry Koldun (I know he was for Belarus, but still) - all of them were the winners/Top 5 of Russian X-Factor show...

5. Venger Collective - 9 o'clock Moscow night

Ew :/

6. Polina Griffiths - Love is independent

She WAS the singer of A'Studio long time ago. The place had been taken by American singer Katy (don't remember the last name).

7. Kvatro - Lyublyu tebya

8. Thomas Christiansen - One more try

 at Thomas and Polina in the same selection!

9. Princessa Avenue - Never, never...

10. Tim Rox - The happiest man

11. Anna Semenovich - Love lovila

OMG They MUST be kidding. I would quit following ESC at all if these 'Haukaas' breasts (kink) won.

12. Nikolay Fokeev - You can stop the time

13. Plazma - Neverending story

They always sing in English. I was a huge fan back then when i didn't know what is 'BJ'

14. Nano - Triator

15. Unisex - Ai-ai-ai

Quite catchy, fave so far.

I really like "Traitor" by Nano. :o "Lyublyu tebya" by Kvatro is good too!

I haven't heard many of these yet, but I actually love Love Lavila  Is she like the Russian Katie Price or something though?

Valeriya's song is very diappointing, and there are too many ballads for this year to do well.

And btw who is Katie Price?

Anna Semenovich is the ex-member of Sugababes-ish trio that have already changed their membership about 10 times  And she's Maria Haukaas Storeng #2 (breasts-wise) :heehee:

What?

Katie is an ex glamour model and talentless wannabe married to Peter Andre. Used to be known as Jordan. Came second in the 2005 UK Eurovision selection. I'm glad she's only known here...

LOL.

"mellow" is for that you like the song :heehee:

I remember someone posting something about her in the Lounge thread. She is our 'Jordan'!

Will someone be watching this tonight? :cheer:

I'm watching too! http://217.16.29.72/eurovision2009 is the good link...

Song 3 is the best so far, but her live vocals were poor and the dance routine was... interesting. OMG they're talking about Jade :cheer:

Funny thing is, they showed that on the first show of YCNU, but obviously, dubbed the other way around...
What is she wearing!

Ah, I see! Oooh, Jade. Not a fan of the song, but I hope she does well.

Jade Even...

We really must come top 10 this year.
