Never Gonna Let You Go was kind of a good song. Much better than Believe. But I don't have much hope for Russia this year...

Yup :snif:

Oh well, that'll be Russia's worst result for years then...

It was very suspicious how they didn't announce the jury vote...

I see it doing well in the Eurovision personally :o

They kind of did. 6 votes versus 5 for Anastasiya.

I think it'll be Top 15. I quite like how it's in Russian and it has a slight traditional sound to it, but she will have to stop the screaming at the end. :P

The song isn't (in) russian in general. Even the name is in Ukranian... Anastasiya is from Kiev as far as i'm concerned

The most part of the song isn't (in) russian in general.

Oh is it in Ukranian? Couldn't really tell the difference... I think top 15 is realistic, maybe top 10, but no chance at another win.

Well there you go, my knowledge of the language is crap.

Yes, it is. The chorus is. Don't remember the song already....

Well it won't be Moscow 2010! Reckon it'll finish somewhere between seven and 13 though all the same.

^^ that if they are lucky.... 2nd half of the table I predict they only get 1 performance (final).

why Russia why this ??? :(

oh well you had 7 great songs in the last 7 years ...

I'm not feeling this AT ALL!

It's Russia. And they're the hosts. Top 15, if not top 10, is guaraneed :(

My ranking of 2000-2009 Russian songs:

2007: LOVE LOVE LOVE. Adore.

2003: HUGE LOVE for Tatu! EPIC song!

2000: Love. Adore/-ed Alsou at the time.

2004: another 'X-Factor-Rus edition' top 4 finisher. The vocals were terrible, but i like her as a singer.

2009: Not bad, I should say. But it should've been sung in english

2002: Nothern Girl. Quite 'listenable' song. Remember being a little obsessed over it that time :kink:

2006: 'New Wave' winner. The song is good itself. But i dislike Dima a bit. Too gay :kink:

2005: crap, another *talentless* 'X-Factor-Rus edition' top 3 finisher

2008: The same as in 2006, but the song is terrible.

2001: Don't remember the song and this is actually good because it was terrible!

Oh how i 'love' Russian entries

 just listened to the song and it's absolutely terrible live and will surely sink in the final, or will it!?! I think the 'political voting' theorists will love to see how this one does!

then again, the melody in the awful chorus is quite catchy and it has stuck in my head already in an annoying Snalla Snalla like fashion :heehee:

my Russian rankings, just for fun of the last decade:

2007: amazing, one of my favourite ESC entries ever, almost like it was written for BuzzJack :heehee:

2000: great pop song, I adored Alsou and followed her career from this point onwards, she even had a UK hit with Before You Love Me

2004: made my top 5, she was a bit Avril-like lookswise but I really liked this throwaway song!

2005: didn't deserve the stick it got, or the position, also made my chart!

2003: love tATu but I wasn't so struck by this song, it was a bit of a damp squib but at least it didn't win, although two even more inferior songs finished above it anyway, 2003 was my least favourite ESC year of the decade I think...

2008: not bad from Jim Beanz but Dima's vocals were really really terrible and he was an awful winner for Russia considering they didn't win the year before with the best song in the competition

2006: see above, the song was about as good/bad, didn't really deserve 2nd...arguably more melodic than Believe but I didn't like it in any way

2002: mediocre song by an ugly boyband, nothing more to say on it

2009: a novelty entry from Russia!?! oh this is serious :o :heehee:

2001: My sister and I laugh about this song...awful band, awful voice etc...but still finished 6th was it!?! unbelievable, as bad as Alf Poier doing that well two years later
