Forget about sh!t like Coldplay or White Lies, the genuine, alternative/indie article is these guys..... And they are back with an album which frankly blows everything else out of the water.... "...Trail of Dead" have come back from the, er, dead, their last album, "World's End", was disappointing, but "The Century of the Self" is frankly just too fukkin' amazing for words.... I saw these guys play in Amsterdam back in '02 (touring their fukkin' blinding "Source Tags and Codes" album) and shared a spliff or two with them aftershow (get this, a band who actually hang out in the bar with their fans, what a novel concept.... :rolleyes: ), and they've completely gotten their mojo back... I've downloaded this, but reckon will buy because it's really that good.....

 

If you like your alternative music with a capital "A", and displaying the attitude of bands such as Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Pavement, etc then "....Trail of Dead" are the band for you......

It's incredibly average in my opinion, especially compared to albums like Source Tags and Codes.

havent listened to them in a fair few years, maybe check them out a bit later but i havent really heard them, in well ages.

Well, to me it's a vast improvement on "World's End".... That was a huge disappointment.... I disagree, they're def back on track.... It sits better with their first three albums than "World's End" did, even if it's not quite as accomplished as Source Tags and Codes.....

 

And, let's face it, even an average "....Trail of Dead" album still knocks several shades of sh!te out of the rubbish that overhyped crud like Coldplay or White Lies come up with, in the same way an average Cure album knocks several shades out of the likes of Fall Out Boy or My Comical Romance..... :rolleyes:
