Posted March 4, 200916 yr If its five years since Darius released Live Twice, does anyone think we are ever likely to get a new album or is it just me feeling negative?
March 4, 200916 yr OMG!!!Lets hope we do VERY soon Caroline!!!!......cant beleive its 5 years already :( !!We are so hungry for some new music!!!Fingers crossed we get some soon!!
March 4, 200916 yr  :( I have given up hope tbh, plus seeing how very hard some are having to work promoting their albums like slaves for not overwhelming sales..it makes me even more pessimistic, as I cant see Darius wanting to be a slave to the sales pitch!
March 4, 200916 yr His Dad says he hasn't stopped writing so I'm very hopeful. When did Booth say this Meg?Thought he'd already written the tracks, and was finishing recording now?I will ALWAYS be hopeful, and keeping fingers TIGHTLY crossed we dont have to wait TOO much longer now!!
March 4, 200916 yr It's frustrating that Darius has given no indication of the direction he's going in with regard to his music but we know that he has been recording in America. However, I feel that if he is serious that the album is his top priority, he really needs to be over here in the UK, working with producers who know him well enough to bite the bullet and tell him outright " That's fine as it is. No more changes!" He said that he intends to work with Pete and Deni again. I hope we see some progress in that respect soon. I don't want him to break up with Natasha because he seems to love her so much, but maybe that's what it would take to make him put himself and his own career first.
March 4, 200916 yr quote Baytree - don't want him to break up with Natasha because he seems to love her so much, but maybe that's what it would take to make him put himself and his own career first. I have to agree with this especially when I read of loads of artistes who are not in the charts but are releasing albums including lesser known artistes. There was an article in the Sun yesterday saying that Joss stone was performing at a concert for less than 500 people because of her fall from grace. Before she appeared before thousands but it seems the public didnt like her returning from the states with an american accent. Didnt something like this happen years ago with Sheena Easton. I think I would understand it more with D if he was appearing over there in gigs even small ones but that doesnt appear to be the case. Mel B and Cat deeley both managved by 19 however seem to be doing that. I know Im being critical but time is moving on for him.
March 4, 200916 yr Alarm bells rang for me when he was interviewed before singing" From A Distance" and when asked what he was planning next, prefixed his answer with, "I Think" I will be working on the album and doing some acting. It all sounded so vague. It's as if his career isn't his priority any more :( Sue
March 4, 200916 yr well he will need money so he needs to get himself sorted! I remember when he was asked about marraige and he said he would't marry till he was able to support a wife and family..... .....so he better get cracking....!!!! should I pop round and have a word........
March 4, 200916 yr quote spam fritter - should I pop round and have a word. Someone needs to. I mean her career is still going ahead so why is his not, he has management actually out there i.e. simon fuller and nigel lythgoe virtually on the spot.
March 4, 200916 yr Darius has never really stopped writing. I just wish I could hear some of the songs.
March 5, 200916 yr Darius has never really stopped writing. I just wish I could hear some of the songs. I'll second that Meg!!Cant wait to hear some new ones!!
March 5, 200916 yr Author I'm sorry but after such a long time I feel very pessmistic. I would even be happy if we went down a Michael Ball sort of line i.e. show songs rather than producing nothing.
March 5, 200916 yr I think it's passion which motivates Darius. Singing those songs as part of a bigger challenge, would be OK - Chicago the whole MT thing was new for him, Guys and Dolls, it was the dancing element which enthralled him and then GWTW was twice the challenge - being the lead in a brand new musical and the challenge of portraying one of the best known literary and cinematic flawed romantic characters. However, I personally don't think Darius would sing MT songs for the sake of it, other than the remote possibility of him including one in his setlist at a live gig.
March 5, 200916 yr Quote baytree - I think it's passion which motivates Darius, agreed but I think that passion might be Natasha.
March 5, 200916 yr Yes Pam, please go and have a few choice words, or better still :hithead: this might do the trick. Must admit I was wondering about the money side of things. I wonder if the closing of GWTW hit him harder than he admitted, which is understandable. One minute he has the lead role in a fantastic new musical, and the next minute, it's all been taken away through no fault of your own.Would take an effort to pick yourself up from that.I feel he's content with his life at present, too content, and it will take something major to motivate him. The trouble is he leaves such a long time in between projects, that each time it's like starting again. Sue
March 5, 200916 yr Remember, Darius is like watching a swan on water. He seems to just calmly sail by and you have no idea of the energetic footwork going on beneath the water. He has goals and he'll let us know when he reaches them.
March 5, 200916 yr I love the idea of Darius being compared to a Swan Meg  Edited March 5, 200916 yr by darius4me
March 5, 200916 yr It's the swan's feet really, paddling like mad to get him to where he wants to go. Pure determination.
March 5, 200916 yr Excactly,i just wish that other people would realise that just because at the moment he's not doing anything in the public eye at the moment,it dosn't mean that he's doing nothing, when in fact he is working damn hard behind the scenes, and always has done!
