I have and I can. Each year we've had something new to appreciate. I just don't understand why people with no interest in Darius come into this forum.

No new records in the last fewyears as each time something else came up. Then the tracks already done didn't seem good enough. He loves music theatre so each year we've seen him in a different role. We've also had the jazz set - a type of music he played when he was 16/17 and revisited. It's a shame that was shelved as he seemed to love working with the band - not that they were the ones who were due to be in his band. I'm not keen on jazz but I loved the accoustic solo parts.

We just enjoy what comes (or not, depending on our taste). I am just dreadful at waiting and this year worse than normal.

ashford, in my post I was saying exactly what you have said - for most young lads it would be wierd if they were interested in and followed Darius' career, thats why I said I would be amazed. I have a lad just out of teens, and he never misses a chance to wind me up about Darius,(seems its obligatory) although he would never listen to any of his music, or be interested in the slightest in anything Darius does. he is into bands I can't stand - although I like the Killers as he does.

although Darius does have male fans who see him as inspiration to follow your dream and write your own songs regardless of negativity, and who have posted as much on his myspace and facebook pages.

I know young males who appreciate the way he has dealt with the treatment he seems to always have had from the media - which has spread over into the populance as a whole. For me, his appeal is nothing to do with his sex or looks. I don't see why I should expect it to be in others.

Darius has always been harder on himself than his worst critics.

He's achieved the position he always wanted - to have virtually total creative control over his music and yet, it's the effect of that aspect of his character that worries me.

I appreciate it must be hard to reach the point where he thinks "This is the best I have done and the best I think I can do" about sufficient songs for his next album. He always said that to write music you need plenty of life experiences. Think of all the changes he's been through since Live Twice. Every one must have stirred up different influences. He may well have thought (perhaps more than once) that the songs he had in the can just didn't reflect those.

I think we recognise his need for a private life. Half our problem is that he doesn't always let people know what he's doing when it IS something we should and would support but that has been the case most of the time.

His private life is his own. Apart from hoping he's happy, that's about it.

I agree there are things it would be nice to know on the working front and surely to his benefit. To put out an album with absolutely no buzz as it were would be no good and that is how it appears to stand at the moment. He said a while back he was working in canada, it would have been great to know on what front that was i.e. singing, writing, acting etc. I mean Baytree might have been there at the time.!!
Maybe he's just being cautuous. He's really thought that his album would be out and then had something turn up to delay it.

I just have a bad feeling....

not helped by Natashas house being on the market - now is not the time to be selling assets if you dont actually NEED to. then again I am naturally pessimistic, I just hope he is OK, this nothingness leaves me open to speculation, and then pessimism

A house owned by both of them may be a good idea. We don't know why, I just assume they know what and why they're doing it.

Hello everyone,

Although I haven't posted before I do read and try to catch up hear every day, It took a while to get used to after Sonnets sight. I don't understand what it matters to any of us why Darius and Natasha choose to sell their home, after all isnt that what most people do at some time in their lives.

Hiya Poppy!

Have to say still love listening to Dive in and Live Twice, still sound fresh to me, and i think he as a few different styles on both albums that show versatility, all good stuff!

Hiya,

I keep on changing my mind which album is my favourite, I think at the moment it is Dive in although I do love Better man and Kinda Love - oh I cant make my mind up again

In his Xmas message Darius said that he was working with Pete again for this next album. On this morning, just before he did Guys and Dolls, he explained what type of music he was aiming for and also that 2008 was his target. Well, we all know what happened in 2008, and I'm now looking forward to 2009 being the time that we get to hear the new tracks.
