This heavy rock band with an ever changing line up featuring the core members Ritchie Blackmore; John Lord & Ian Paice has featured the likes of Ian Gillan & David Coverdale as vocalists.

Were any of you fans of this progressive rock band or did you prefer the likes of Zeppelin & Sabbath?

I had a very diverse love of music in the 70's whereby I liked Deep Purple, Sabbath,Zeppelin & Genesis on the one hand and T Rex, ELO & Bowie on the other.

A lot of my friends either liked one or the other, but to me they missed out restricting their musical tastes.

I loved Smoke on the water, Hush, Black Night, Fireball, Strange kind of Woman.

i likes what i likes regardless of who produces what.... so i see no conflict between liking them

yeah i liked them, but im not a big 'fan'...

Was a much bigger fan of the Deep Purple spin off groups Rainbow (one of my 3 fave rock groups ever) and Whitesnake, I liked Deep Purple but they never made the impact on me that Rainbow and Whitesnake did

Fave song is Mistreated and Woman From Tokyo
