Humate - Love Stimulation!

Can't believe I forgot this one - it'd be somewhere in my Top 10. Gorgeous tune!

My top ten from your list would look something like this:

1 Chicane - Saltwater

2 Tina Cousins - Killin' Time (Fishead Mix) (Thou I'm not sure which version that mix is, anyway a great track)

3 ATB - 9pm..Till I Come

4 Underworld - Born Slippy

5 Everything But The Girl - Missing

6 Sash! - Encore Une Fois

7 Captain Hollywood Project - More And More

8 Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms

9 Faithless - Insomnia

10 Felix - Don't You Want Me

It's pretty hard to find, but basically the Fishead mix is an Insomnia/Encore Une Fois rip-off  But it's the best version in my opinion

It's well known I love me dance music here and this is very much a who's who list of 90s dance choons. My only quarm is the distinct lack of US vocal house (which would dominate my top 40 if I made one). Anyway, I like most of these, especially

1. Felix - Don't You Want Me

4. E'voke - Arms Of Loren

7. Sybil - When I'm Good And Ready  Yes this is a guilty pleasure!

8. Submerge ft Jan Johnston - Take Me By The Hand

17. Prodigy - No Good (Start The Dance)

22. Y-Traxx - Mystery Land

28. Todd Terry - Keep On Jumpin' (Rhythm Masters Mix)

29. Hyper Go Go - High

31. Billie Ray Martin - Your Loving Arms

32. Chicane - Offshore

33. H20 ft Billie - Nobody's Business

38. Age Of Love - Age Of Love

But I've always failed to see the sheer vast appeal in...

3. ATB - 9pm..Till I Come

I grew to hate this in that hot summer of 99!

9. Underworld - Born Slippy

tbh, I really got bored with that track, and it's far from being one of Underworld's best tunes imo..... Stuff like Cowgirl, Mmmm Skyscraper I Love You, Dark and Long, Moaner, King of Snake and Dirty Epic were the tunes by Underworld that I really loved.....

I honestly cant believe that Leftfield/Lydon's superb "Open Up" is so low on that list..... Nothing by The KLF, The Orb, Aphex Twin or The Shamen....??????

 well the list was done at the top of my head. I forgot Dark & Long - that should have been there somewhere.

The only Aphex Twin one I liked was Windowlicker. KLF had some great tunes too but not great enough to have a huge impact on me. Was never really into The Shamen - the only one of theirs I bought was Destination Echaton from '95.

INFINITY!

ENCORE UN FOIS mentioned!

No Livin' Joy in that list? Dreamer and Don't Stop Movin' still sound as good today as they did back in 1995 and 1996. Listening to Dreamer even now takes me back to a holiday I had in Penzance in July 1995, just as the weather was starting to turn baking hot at the start of that wonderfully hot and sunny summer. It especially reminds me of a drunken night in St. Ives where it seemed to be playing on the jukebox in every pub I was drinking in.

Someone mentioned 1999 having a hot summer - that one must have passed me by! The only memories I have of that summer was it being dull and cloudy when we had the total eclipse of the sun (Aug 11, 1999) and the whole thing turning out to be a damp squib as a result. The other memory I have of that summer was being a Newcastle fan in a pub full of Sunderland supporters as Newcastle were beaten at home 2-1 in monsoon conditions as the heavens opened for the entire 90 minutes of the match - by the end the pitch was more like a swimming pool! That was on the evening of August 25 and it had been thundering, lightening and raining off and on all day so I have this memory of that summer as being a disappointment...

I'd certainly include Livin' Joy's Dreamer...as likeable as Don't Stop Movin' is, I don't think I'd include that as one of the best of the 90's.

I would include Da Hool - Meet Her At The Love Parade, Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall, Armand Van Helden's U Don't Know Me and even Baby D with Let Me Be Your Fantasy.

true, summer of 99 was nothing special, in fact only 03 has been a decent summer since 96 (though 06 had a very nice 2 weeks)

I like these...

1. Felix - Don't You Want Me

9. Underworld - Born Slippy (but I'm so, so bored of hearing it)

11. Josh Wink - Higher States Of Consciousness (Original - damn right, the remixes were pointless)

16. Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun (although way below their best)

17. Prodigy - No Good (Start The Dance)

19. CJ Bolland - Sugar Is Sweeter

29. Hyper Go Go - High

30. Adamski - Killer

35. Leftfield/Lydon - Open Up

37. Sabes Of Paradise - Smokebelch II

The rest I pretty much hate.

I'd throw in these too

Skin Up - Blockbuster

Gat Decor - Passion (original version - not the one which chucked in the Degrees of Motion vocal for no reason)

Natural Born Chillers - Rock the Funky Beats

Monkey Mafia - Lion in the Hall

Tricky Disco - Tricky Disco

plus loads more

Gat Decor - Passion (original version - not the one which chucked in the Degrees of Motion vocal for no reason)

To be fair, "Degrees of Passion" was a much-established bootleg before it got a very belated official release in 96 so it was coceived "organically". But yes, I prefer both tracks in question on their own but worked effectively as a bootleg.

"Lion In The Hall" is also a wicked track, not heard in bloody ages!
