Posted March 9, 200916 yr I've decided to launch a new weekly topic concerning the playlist of German music channel Viva. I think it would be interesting for all who like the German charts. For those who don't know, Viva plays the entire top 30 of the German singles charts, without acts like Tim Toupets or DJ Oetzi, plus new, still uncharted, songs. So here it is the latest playlist: Amy Macdonald - “This Is The Life” 33 weeks in the playlist Big Ali Feat. Dollarman - “Hit The Floor” 2 w Brandy - “Right Here (Departed)” 2 w Britney Spears - “Circus” 5 w Cassandra Steen - “Darum Leben Wir” 8 w Christina Stürmer - “Ist Mir Egal” 1 w NEU Die Toten Hosen - “Alles Was War” 2 w Eisblume - “Eisblumen” 11 w Enrique Iglesias Feat. Sarah Connor - “Takin' Back My Love” 1 w NEU Flo Rida - “Right Round” 1 w NEU Guru Josh Project - “Infinity 2008” 27 w Girls Aloud - "The Promise" 1 w NEU James Morrison feat. Nelly Furtado - “Broken Strings” 11 w Jeanette Biedermann - “Undress To The Beat” 4 w Katy Perry - “Hot N Cold” 19 w Katy Perry - “Thinking of You” 6 w Kelly Clarkson - “My Life Would Suck Without You” 5 w Kevin Rudolf feat. Lil Wayne - “Let It Rock” 11 w Kings of Leon - “Use Somebody” 1 w NEU LaFee - “Scheiss Liebe” 3 w Lady Gaga - “Poker Face” 5 w Lady Gaga - “Just Dance” 8 w (after the song re-entered the top 30) Leona Lewis - “Run” 15 w Lily Allen - “The Fear” 10 w Madcon - “Liar” 3 w Mando Diao - “Dance With Somebody” 11 w Metro Station - “Shake It” 2 w Miley Cyrus - “Fly on the Wall” 4 w Milow - “Ayo Technology” 3 w Peter Fox - “Schwarz Zu Blau” 8 w Peter Fox - “Haus am See” 23 w Pink - “Sober” 14 w Polarkreis 18 - “Allein Allein” 22 w Polarkreis 18 - “The Colour Of Snow” 7 w QueensBerry - “Can't Stop Feeling” 6 w Razorlight - “Wire to Wire” 4 w Rihanna - “Rehab” 11 w Sasha - “Please Please Please” 7 w Selig - “Schau Schau” 4 w Silbermond - “Irgendwas Bleibt” 6 w The Killers - “Human” 18 w U2 - “Get on Your Boots” 4 w Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron - “Right Here Right Now” 3 w
March 9, 200916 yr I remember when the whole top75 was playlisted. What happened to dance songs on VIVA? I cant see any on the playlist...its a terrible channel since its been bought by Viacom
March 9, 200916 yr Author I remember when the whole top75 was playlisted. What happened to dance songs on VIVA? I cant see any on the playlist...its a terrible channel since its been bought by Viacom Until four or five years ago, VIVA playlisted the entire top 60, I don't remember the top 75 to have been ever playlisted. Anyway, I think that that's an overall trend less songs to be playlisted. And yes, MTV is to be blamed for that. Still VIVA remains, at least for me, the best music channel on my cable right now. I don't know if there is a better German music TV.
March 9, 200916 yr No wonder that there are less and less songs in the playlist. 75% of the programmes on Viva (and MTV too) are nothing to do with music, just stupid American and reality shows
March 11, 200916 yr Author VH1 Europe is easily the best channel imo. I prefer channels that play only new music but still think that VH1 Classic, the central European one, is better than VH1 Europe.
March 11, 200916 yr nah, nothing is better than Vh1 Europe. Music 23 hours a day, huge variety, music from loads of decades, different kinds of shows for many genres, its perfect.
March 11, 200916 yr Author Girls Aloud?? ohmy.gif The single is released in Germany on March 27 :) And the girls have never been popular in Germany (only "Sound Of The Underground" entered the Top 100) and I think this is their last chance to have a hit in the country. Btw are Girls Aloud popular anywhere outside UK?
March 11, 200916 yr ^^ no they're not. Sound Of The Underground and Jump are their only 2 songs to chart decently in other European countries

Still I prefer the channels that play the newest music, no matter how thin their playlists are, and on VH1 there is no German music ;) And on VH1 Classic there are no commercials, and the music there is 24 hours a day ;)
March 11, 200916 yr They always keep playing that Allein Allein song. Anyway, not a big fan of most German music. And since its a European channel, the German songs need to be a hit in Europe for them to get played, like Allein. Vh1 Classic dont play German either, unless they're in english

The other channel which I watch is MTV Hits as they play a lot of new hits from UK. I don't remember the last time I turned on MTV Europe or VH1 Europe :D
