'Jump' sounds terrible. It's been done a million times before, and it was better every time. Monotone and messy. Excited for the album though, since RR is good and Sugar is the absolute tits.
Mail On Sunday was pretty $h!t bar any of the tracks that featured someone. So unless each track on R.O.O.T.'s features someone, then I'm not overly fussed for this.

Strange thing to say given that 9 of the 14 songs featured other artists... :heehee:

There was that many? :o

EDIT: You're right, I thought it was something like five. :heehee:

CLIPS (ta Mikal!). You can see the album cover when the player pops up. He looks fat on it. Thoughts:

Finally Here - Nice enough. Easy listening.

Jump ft.Nelly - Can't decide. Sounds annoying but also good. Hmm.

Never - Sounds really good. Slightly old-school.

Gotta Get It - Ooof, technorap. Yes pls! Lush.

Touch Me - Why isn't whoever the feature artist is credited? Anyway, addictive chorus and ridiculous rhymes = winner.

Shone ft.Pleasure P - Full Song. What does 'you could be my shone' even mean? A bit nothingy in the chorus. Verse is better.

Right Round / Sugar - Both fabulous.

ROOTS - Cheese! I like it though. Summery.

Mind On My Money - Chorus is heaven. That is all.

Available ft.Akon - 'Let me put ya number in my iPhone' is NOT going to sound good in 3 years! Sounds alright though.

Rewind ft.Wyclef - Gold, obviously. Wyclef is like God pt.2. Sounds fab.

Be On You ft.NeYo - Dodgy title. Makes it sound like a gay movie theme song. Nice if typical NeYo.

Overall, sounds SO much better than his debut. Exciting!

I LOVE 'Right Round' but I think that's mainly due to Kesha, I can't listen to a whole album of just rap haha.

MY JUDGEMENTS BASED ON THE CLIPS.

Finally Here - Generic, nothing special. It's alright though.

Jump - This sounds IMMENSE. Can't wait to hear the full version!

Never - This is the kind of rap that I actually like, like Jark said very throwback.

Gotta Get It - This sounds... interesting. The clip is to short for me to judge. The production is great.

Touch Me - This sounds like it is either a major grower or just f***ing annoying. Can't decide.

Shone - lol wtf? I love the production, as usual. The rest sounds meh.

Right Round - I hated this on first listen, now I f***ing LOVE IT.

Sugar - That caught me off guard.

R.O.O.T.S. - Is this the next single? I hope not, worst on the album so far.

Mind On My Money - Sounds alright, leaning more towards like then dislike.

Rewind Ft. Wyclef Jean - ANNOYING. Wyclef sounds like a f***ing dying moose.

Available Ft. Akon - I like this...

Be On You Ft. Ne-Yo - "Dodgy title. Makes it sound like a gay move theme song. Nice if typical NeYo." - I concur.

Jump and Right Round are definitely my favorites judging from this. Sugar seems like it could turn into something good after a few listens.

STILL none of this tops In The Ayer maybe Jump.

So the album is a MAJOR disappointment. Most of it is nothing more than pleasant background music and the dirtier/club numbers are awfully monotone. Right Round and Sugar absolutely pap on everthing else. 'Highlights', though I'm in no rush to listen again, are 'Jump', 'Dancer', 'Available' and 'Rewind'.

MEH.

Brilliant album especially when i was expecting a load of generic rap.
