Finally had a little listen at work (better viewing youtube).

It looked like they were miming on The Garden (except Mark) and then on Patience it looked like Gary was singing but not the others. I'm getting fed up of them now to be honest! One wonders if they will mime on tour now .... now that they think they can get away with it. It is just sheer laziness as far as I'm concerned.

I really hope the Garden flops all over now to pay them back for this!!!!!!

Im really starting to struggle now with comments and without sounding harsh but every post is becoming so negative lately for the last week i almost feel like im in a hate take that forum, they just can win lately here,if they sing live its the wrong song, when they perform its they mimed again ,when they release single its they dont promote or its the wrong choice,if its not comments like these its i hope they call it a day after the next album or the single is a huge flop.

I hope ye understand where im coming from now dont get me wrong i know we cant love everything they do and yes some of their songs arent the best while others are brilliant but constant negativity is very depressing and we guys are supposed to be the fans.

On a bright note graetest day is top 40 in the midweeks,up all night is number 14 and i aint sure where the album is yet but i have a feeling it will gain from mothers day market this week.

Pete - its the miming! Purely the miming. I can understand now why they had to mime at the Brits - the explanation was very valid and I can see its funny that they'd rather go for a 'dramatic' entrance rather than a plain sing-off from the stage - especially as they must be as bored of Greatest Day as most people are. However ... there was no excuse for miming on Comic Relief or the show in Switzerland ... especially as the one they did in the Netherland was (or at least appeared to be) real. And why only one member singing and the others miming. On the Swiss show - it was clear Gary was singing Patience live and on The Garden - Mark was singing live - but the rest seemed (unless I'm going blind and hearing wrong) to be a playback performance.

Come on ... it must bug you a bit! It wouldn't be so bad if Gary hadn't slagged Britney Spears off ... but lo-and-behold ... he goes and does a Britney. And do you know what ... I'm going to be watching and listening very, very carefully in Manchester now ... because I'll be specifically looking out for miming!

Finally ... I know the miming doesn't seem to bother people on the official forum ... but to me it really is vitally important. The live acts are what Take That are known for ... and this recent 'habit' that they are forming will negate any awards they get for live performances in future ... because no-one will believe them. I'm sorry if that makes me seem harsh ... but I want to see live performances ... if I want to hear a perfect facsimile - I will listen to my CD's.

You know? I get tired how the music industry works. Nowadays is more important the image an artist has instead of his music quality.

How on earth the TV could send it live the music in the 60ies and now with the all high -tech is such a major problem for TV to let artists singing live? For me is lazyness of the TV people and it should be forbidden. What is the point to watch some act miming? What have you from it? Yes, the artist has the promotion, the sales, the watching quotes, but what is your win from it? You can as well put the CD on, hear the radio. The experience is zero! Additionaly, when an artist has the posibility to sing live but he choose to mime, i feel cheated: i gave them my attention, they have the oportunity to show me what they can do, and they choose to cheat. That is for me mimimg - cheating! If it is the fault of the TV or of the artist - both time I feel cheated and that they try to sell me a cheap, second-hand image.

I think one of the problem is also the listener. You can have so much music, so cheap - so you actually don't listen to it anymore. It gets as background and you are not aware anymore you are hearing something. The more posibilities the people got to record the music, the easier had this music devalorised.

Where is the experience? Where is the sharing of the artists? Music is art when is sharing involved. That unique moment shared between the listener and the artist, that bonding of souls which the live music offers, seems to get forgotten. You see everywhere on the forums across the internet: "I don't care if she/he/they mimed. She/He/They looked great". That summs up what i wanted to say  !

Iris I think I have been giving Take That a hard time on here lately though! I'm wondering if I should be mod on their board (mind you - the AF mods don't do anything anywa  ) I'm spending more time on the IMDb boards now (I used to frequent there years ago ... and now that my interest in film has been a little renewed - I think I'm going to go back and post a lot more there). I also like winding up the Robbie fans on the Robbie Board  They're not as thick-skinned as the ones here so they are really amusing to rile!

Its the miming to blame! Can't stand it! I'm going to give them one last chance with Wetten Das - as I know there is no reason at all to not sing live on that. They did it two years ago with a much more difficult song to sing (Reach Out). The Garden is, after all, not too difficult song to give a performance to ... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do a good live one again. If not - I'm afraid it may be 'Goodnight from me'. :)

im not a fan of miming but take that hav eproven themselves live and gary ha sthe right to slag britney as she simply has never ever sung live to my knowledge, sometimes there is a reason for miming maybe someone is sick or sometime ssome tv shows dont have the facilities for live singing but as for the take that concerts it os clearly evidnet they sing live ane likewise on shows like an audoence with or take that come to town, agin some of th eperformnaces i have seen where ye think they mimed i think they sang live and vice versa, but when it comes to actually going to a take that gig they always sing live,i think norma you hav eseen enough dvds and you have been to concerts so im sure when they sing live its clearly live as there is amassive differnce when they sing live and i add the diifernece is massive and in favour of the live i might add too

Yes their shows are completely live. And having been up real close to the B stage on the last tour ... I can definitely vouch for it. They have nothing to prove to existing fans ... but everything to prove if they are to encourage new fans. I don't see why they couldn't have sung totally live rather than partially at Comic Relief - even The Saturdays sang live (and they were pretty good).

As I said earlier ... The Wetten Das program will be crucial for me.
