Posted March 18, 200916 yr Very happy to say that TT has taken this time three days to do promotion in Germany, a couple of radio promotion and two TV shows from 19 till 21 March! :cheer: This time the shows are much more important and i have a feeling this time the Universal had made much more work in choosing (as at the promotion of Greatest Day let us the german fans not quite happy) :yahoo: . I will post here the links and news, when i will have something. I start to have the feeling The Garden will do much better as Greatest Day here. I will be very happy if they get in Top 20 and if the album climbs in the charts!
March 18, 200916 yr it would be nice if the garden can manage top 20 in germany but i have afeeling it will be the album that will benefit sales wise and not the single as much
March 18, 200916 yr Author Well, album or single - i will be happy with both! When someone buys the album can make himself also a better opinion! I think the physical CD single is really dead in Germany, so i don't think that will work well. But perhaps the single will go up through downloads. It is important they get some good coverage (normally "Wetten dass" becomes coverage in important newspapers). Edit: as i looked in which TV shows will be about them or onterviews with them: they are targetted to the audience who buys albums and not singles. But with the more slaes of the album, the better chances we have for a tour (perhaps next year). Edited March 18, 200916 yr by IrisAlbastru
March 18, 200916 yr the cd single is sadly dying everywhere and it annoys me that record companies have not fought at all to save the cd single, there is still alot od demand for cd singles but there is simply ni supply to meet the demand, vert few places stock cd singles and those who do stick a very limited amount, the latest pet shop boys singles shows they are not supplying to the demand level as most fans are been left without cd 1 as it has completly sold out im sure had the demand met supply there certainly would have been no excess of cd 1 singles left lying around so i feel in a case like this it is such a missed opportunity
March 19, 200916 yr Author A very short interview today in Germany: http://www.hr-online.de/website/radio/hr3/...cument_36608652 Nothing new, really.
March 19, 200916 yr A very short interview today in Germany: http://www.hr-online.de/website/radio/hr3/...cument_36608652 Nothing new, really. I do wish people would stop asking about Rob. Still ... at least we know that his album is out in September / October. I may place a little bet on the best selling album of 2009 then! Worth putting at least a tenner on! Norma
March 20, 200916 yr Author Nice interview with Mark here. If you have always wanted to know which soccer team they like, here is your chance  : http://www.regenbogen.de/programm/mornings...-take-that.html
March 20, 200916 yr Nice interview with Mark here. If you have always wanted to know which soccer team they like, here is your chance  : http://www.regenbogen.de/programm/mornings...-take-that.html Well I know Gary and Mark are Liverpool fans ... Will watch/listen to this later. My computer is absolutely rubbish at the moment. Norma

March 22, 200916 yr in germany the charts are not compiled through singles or album sales but per gross revenue. so the most expensive CD will debut at #1 even when it sold less than others..(the charts are done with this method since 2007 i think)
March 22, 200916 yr in germany the charts are not compiled through singles or album sales but per gross revenue. so the most expensive CD will debut at #1 even when it sold less than others..(the charts are done with this method since 2007 i think) So for example 100 singles selling at five euros would chart higher than 200 selling at two euros? I think that's a fairer way of doing things ... by profit margin. Norma
March 22, 200916 yr Author Now i understand why the singles in De are so expensive and nobody makes the price lower after 1 week as in UK  . But with that they are really killing the single market. How many people wants a single for 6 euros when they can have a whole album for 10?
March 22, 200916 yr yeah the singles market belongs to hardcore fans now.. but there are also singles prized for 3 euros.. i see a top 20 position for the garden in germany, that was a wonderful performance!
March 22, 200916 yr Author As this time they promoted heavly (in comparation with Greatest Day), they might have a chance. BUt i think they are targetted at the generation "album", so if the album enters top 40 and The Garden not, i will be still very happy...
March 22, 200916 yr what matters these days are album sales only.. no one looks at single performances. their last album went platinum (200.000) so i hope the circus gets at least gold (100.000). They used to be so popular in germany during the 90's, what happened? The music's still great, but they haven't visited germany so much with the circus (though the BW Tour was a mega success)
March 22, 200916 yr Author But the Circus has gold status in Germany, it was in the news a couple of weeks ago. So they have sold at least 100000 till now. Did BW only sold 200000? It is that ok for an album in Germany?
March 25, 200916 yr The promo isn't helping much in Germany. The Garden peaked at 16 on the itunes chart but has started to drop. Iris - I don't know how much iTunes impacts on your chart but I'm guessing they won't do better than top 40. The story is even worse in Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Norma
March 25, 200916 yr Hope it does improve the album sales. I think it will do in Germany a little - but I'm quite sure the rest of Europe is a lost cause. I'm sorry to sound a bit despondent ... but I truly feel Take That just don't appeal to Europe! They're a bit too 'old fashioned' I feel. Whereas ... I like 'old fashioned'. Norma
