The movie Janelle Monae has based her entire work on thus far. :o

it was incredibly ahead of it's time...for somebody to think that it was a contemporary music video, over 80 years later is a huge compliment to Metropolis' groundbreaking cinematography

I really want to see that film now. :o Had never heard of it before seeing that video... looks like the sort of thing that'd scare the $h!t of me too. :magic:

Yeah they are. But nonetheless, even the featured artists on the album: Lykke Li, Karin Drejer etc. All totally out of place here.

 

Also on last.fm "similar artists" (i.e. what the bulk of Röyksopp listeners also listen to) are listed as: Télépopmusik, Air, The Knife and Goldfrapp. None of whom would ever have a topic posted in here. Sometimes you need to look beyond basic genres and into the "scene" an act fits within to get the most enriched discussion...

I do not understand how Royksopp are dance at all. :/ Since when does electronic = dance? No one dances to their music? At least in clubs etc. o_O When's the last time you busted a move to What Else Is There? Such an emotional / electronic piece with absolutely no dance qualities at all. Maybe remixes but they hardly count... So clearly indie / electronic / alternative to me...

Bloody brilliant frankly :wub: My best bit is the completely superfluous robot-does-the-robot dance break at the end. Perfect Radio Edit too. If this isn't number one for 8 weeks, there is something wrong with this country.

Just listened to this for the first time and within in seconds I fell in love with it!! Fantastic track and hope it charts well, surely will give them their first top 15 single!
