March 30, 200916 yr They have though, when all this ragbag army of new age travellers, assorted anarchists, rent a mob troublemakers, dole scroungers, tree huggers, and swampy types start smashing up the area and the police go wading in with their batons then innocents are going to get hit as well And the 'Daily Mail in a Post' Award for 2009 goes to...:P
March 30, 200916 yr And the 'Daily Mail in a Post' Award for 2009 goes to...:P LOL  Got a hangover / headache and a cold so am in rant mode at times today ;)
March 30, 200916 yr Exactly Phil When Brands Hatch motor racing circuit made plans to create the most advanced circuit in motor racing facilities wise that would have created roughly 2000 jobs these tree hugging lentil eaters campaigned and blockaded and everything and finally got the plan thrown out, why did they do this ? Because of a rare type of fukkin SNAIL that they said would be endangered if the plans went ahead A fukkin snail took priority over getting 2000 people into work  Environmentalists/tree huggers/swampy type are a pet hate of mine That is so true. Heathrow needs a third runway and it's expansion to help it facilitate the increase in passenger numbers it's seeing. It is without a doubt the most important airport in the UK. Vast numbers of flights into the UK and Europe go through Heathrow. I know that when i booked my flights for Brisbane i could fly 'direct' with Emirates to Brisbane from Glasgow. I would have gone through Dubai instead of London on my way to Singapore. Singapore is the gateway to Australia, no tree hugging losers stood in their way when they built that! They are the biggest bunch of hypocritical w*n**rs i have ever come across. Non-Government supported scientists have proven that Climate Change is bull$h!te, in fact the earth has been warmer, many times in the past and it will continue to heat up and cool down. My Geography teacher in 2nd year told me that a new theory had put this down to the earth's orbit naturally varying. Humans breathing and animals are the 2 biggest cause of CO2 emissions, they want to cut CO2 then maybe they should give the third world condoms to stop them constantly popping babies out, or preferably they could just stop breathing. We'd get another 50 odd years outta the last one

Even Brisbane International can handle the A380 and Qantas has no plans on sending one of their 5 up my way this year. And for the record, Brisbane itself isn't very much bigger than Glasgow population wise. Without A380 compliance Europe's international gateway will move to Frankfurt or Paris CD. Possibly even Amsterdam. One world seems to use Heathrow, compared to the KLM groups amsterdam. A new runway and terminal would of course create $h!t loads of jobs. I think i read somewhere about Edinburgh getting a new terminal/runway? i know when i left it in Feb they were doing something internally to try to catch up with the superior Glasgow. Without the new runway a lot of multinational HQ's would shift to the new hub of Europe. If LHR stops being one of the worlds busiest airports then the big big companies will follow the hub to create their European HQ's near it. Why would they base it in London when most flights into Europe go via Paris??? They really need to look at the bigger picture. Sure, a few people get more noise pollution. Like they can really say much, If they don't like the aircraft noise why the f*** did they buy a house in Heathrow's flight path?!?!?! It's not as if they wouldn't have been able to view the house without at least 10 aircraft taking off/landing

It's not as if they wouldn't have been able to view the house without at least 10 aircraft taking off/landing Exactly Those that are complaining about noise shouldn't have bought a house near Heathrow in the first place, twats Reminds me of the redevelopment of Donnington Park in order for the British GP to be held there, among the complainants were a group of residents who were complaining that holding the British GP there will increase the level of NOISE, ffs why do they go and live next to a motor racing circuit and then complain about bloody noise lol, complete madness, do they really expect a life of peace and tranquility living next to a motor racing circuit ?
March 30, 200916 yr demonstrations are fine as long as they are real people demonstrating in a proper manner because they believe in something. hooligans who infiltrate demonstrations though with the sole intent on causing disruption, damage, violence should be shot!

In fact they love hosting Grand Prix's People who complain about noise from a source that was there before them should just shut the f*** up, or join the green brigade in Mt Etna.
March 30, 200916 yr It aint YOU that's the target mate..... It's the politicians, the banks, city fat cats.... An ordinary person has NOTHING to fear from the protestors..... Yes but people around my area have been warned to expect loads of violence around the area... I only live about 5 mins away from the place where the protest is being held
March 30, 200916 yr might be protesting if i can afford a train ticket (proberly wont, need to pay for one on Saturday too).
March 30, 200916 yr Yes but people around my area have been warned to expect loads of violence around the area... I only live about 5 mins away from the place where the protest is being held There's not going to be fights/violence amongst the protesters, maybe with the police (or if something drastic happens, like a bomb) but It won't be that bad.

It's not as if they wouldn't have been able to view the house without at least 10 aircraft taking off/landing It's not just about the noise pollution though is it, how about the village of Sipson where almost 2,000 people face having their homes demolished for it? There's part of your bigger picture. Edited March 30, 200916 yr by Shoat
March 30, 200916 yr Don't f***in believe this, just lost a massive post i've been typing since before Shoat's post, because i never saw that. <_< Edited March 30, 200916 yr by Harve
March 31, 200916 yr It's not just about the noise pollution though is it, how about the village of Sipson where almost 2,000 people face having their homes demolished for it? March 31, 200916 yr Author yeah, i kinda forgot about the whole village getting wiped off the map thing.... Yeah, little "trivialities" such as that.... People losing their homes, losing their communities.... Do you think that the Govt will actually pay the full market value of those homes...? Like fukk.... I'm afraid that I just dont buy the arguments against Climate change.... It IS happening, and we are depleting our natural resources at an alarmingly high rate also... In 50 years time, there will be no oil... So, a third runway at Heathrow is gonna be rather moot if the fukkin' planes cant get in the air..... So, we just waste whatever oil IS left on pointless stupidity such as Formula 1 which every year probably eats its way through millions of litres of oil, which we should be conserving because Global oil reserves are running out..... There's your "bigger picture" mate....
March 31, 200916 yr Author Yes but people around my area have been warned to expect loads of violence around the area... I only live about 5 mins away from the place where the protest is being held If you're really that worried about things, go and stay with a mate for 24 hours.... But, frankly, I think you should actually go down and join the protests, at the end of the day, it's your future that's being fought for, not so much mine, Craig's or Rob's, it's you youngsters that'll have to deal with this Govt's mistakes in the long-run.....
March 31, 200916 yr Author demonstrations are fine as long as they are real people demonstrating in a proper manner because they believe in something. hooligans who infiltrate demonstrations though with the sole intent on causing disruption, damage, violence should be shot! Yeah, alright Crazy Chris..... :P Mate, if you weren't so stupid, you'd actually see that the G20 protestors are actually the modern day equivalents of The Levellers, The Chartists or The Suffragettes..... If violence be necessary to bring the likes of Fred Goodwin and the city boys, and those in Govt who sat back and just let it all happen to natural justice, then so be it as far as I'm concerned... I really think that the time for talking is over and the time has come for far more direct action against these people..... Our "democratically" elected officials have had their chances and have proven themselves either too corrupt or too incompetent to deal with these people.... We should put our faith in the likes of Jacqui fukkin' Smith or Broon??????? Are you sh!tting me.....?

There's your "bigger picture" mate.... Losing their homes / villages is part of the risk of living near an airport particularly the biggest airport in Europe and I believe the 2nd biggest in the world after Chicago O Hare airport in terms of annual passeger numbers, anyone who live near an airport isn't forced to live there they do so through choice, they have a whole country to choose from location wise so if you choose to live next to an airport then it is their risk, it has been obvious to anyone for 20-30 years that passenger numbers were going to explode so expansion was inevitable In terms of your point about F1, F1 pioneers safety equipment that is then incorporated into road cars, most of the road car safety equipment and structural stuff that has made road cars stronger and safer has been pioneered in F1 so thanks to F1 tens and thousands of people have survived road car crashes that would have seriously injured or killed them, for example the strengtheing of side impact areas of cars owes itself to F1 so F1 does a lot of good
