May 20, 20205 yr Returning June 2nd apparently! Sooner than I thought but I guess they’ve got a backlog of episodes to get through now and it’s picking up right where it left off
August 4, 20204 yr Holby will be going off air once again next week as it has finally run out of episodes that were filmed pre-lockdown. When it returns later this year, the episodes will be 40 minutes long and, of course, dealing with the effects of the coronavirus on the hospital.
August 4, 20204 yr I was thinking it would soon be going off again. It’s been such a strong show lately. So many strong stories running alongside one another and all the cast at their A Game. Only negative id say was Xaviers death was kind of forgotten fast although I’m feeling like once Cameron’s downfall begins Xaviers death and their feud will be revisited. Totally not ready for Essie to die though.
August 12, 20204 yr Devastated at that ending last night. Like as soon as we got the wedding I thought the worst but I at least thought they’d make it down the aisle and say their vows. To do that just before makes it so cruel. Brilliant episode though. So full of drama, sadness, and at times laughter. Perfect episode to end with (for the time being). Essie will be missed though.
November 10, 20204 yr What an absolutely STUNNING episode this is. Hats off to them for not shying away from anything at all, not just casually mentioning the virus and for showing just how much the NHS has been impacted It really put things into perspective and sort of hit home massively about how easy it is to forget what is going on
February 6, 20214 yr Pushed back to Wednesday this week because of the FA Cup. The episode sees the return of Sahira Shah, I assume as Jac's replacement, for the first time since 2012.
February 6, 20214 yr What do we make of the Killer Cameron storyline? I hate him so much so yeah that storyline is working well as he's being portrayed and coming across in exactly the manner he should be.
February 23, 20214 yr Honestly this show is on such top form right now, tonight's episode (along with pretty much everything since the New Year ep) has been so good
March 17, 20214 yr Can't deal with how good this is right now :cheeseblock: Time has got to be running out for Cameron surely
April 16, 20214 yr Davood Ghadami is joining the cast as Eli Ebrahimi, a new surgeon on Darwin later this year.
June 2, 20214 yr The BBC has announced that Holby City will end in March 2022...a brave decision but it's been rating poorly for a while now. It also makes you wonder which soap/continuing drama will be next given they're all rating poorly atm :o
June 2, 20214 yr They are probably running out of ideas, how long can you string 2 running medical shows without trending on old ground. One of them had to give, I remember Holby Blue, that didn't last long. Casualty and Holby City are mot my thing, as I don't like medical dramas, not really fussed over them anyhow.
June 2, 20214 yr Probably Casualty.. it's a shame but some way I'm not surprised it is ending. I imagine if they're ending one, it'll only extend the life of the other.
