Posted March 16, 200619 yr TV wars erupt on Delta delays March 17, 2006 THE schoolyard barney that has become morning television yesterday hit a new low, with Channel 9 accusing Seven's Sunrise program of delaying Delta Goodrem's appearance so she wouldn't have time to make it to her Today show interview on Nine. Today show producers were "furious" with Seven claiming the network deliberately made Goodrem almost an hour late to her interview -- an outside broadcast where fans were waiting to see her. http://www.dailytelegraph.news.com.au/image/delabignew.gif/delabignew.gif Nine had been promoting Goodrem's appearance since 6am, telling viewers she would be at the park at 8am. But Sunrise hosts David Koch and Melissa Doyle boasted to viewers that wasn't going to happen. "There's another show saying they have Delta today but Delta is a Seven lady," Koch said. "Yeah, she's part of the family," added Doyle. "She goes nowhere else," Koch said. Goodrem made it to the interview at five minutes to 9am -- the show's finishing time -- running straight on stage for the final four minutes. Sunrise denied holding Goodrem up, saying the segment set for 8.40am was booked by Goodrem's mother Lea Goodrem and when producers heard she had to make it to a Today show appearance, they "actually shifted segments" around to accommodate Nine "out of the goodness of our heart." The debacle was the start of a hard day for Goodrem who was accused of miming her Commonwealth Games opening ceremony song, Together We Are One which she penned with boyfriend Brian McFadden. She denied miming the song.
March 16, 200619 yr Yeah I just read this, if it's true then its hilarious, go channel seven. I thought she may have mimed, but obviously not :o
March 16, 200619 yr yeah in parts it looked like she could have been miming but at the start you could tell she was singing live,i hope it was live because it was her best performance EVER. Edited March 16, 200619 yr by jack89
March 16, 200619 yr Author I really did think it was live, but having heard the studio version I'm not too convinced. It doesn't matter though as it was an incredible performance and with all the fire around her would have been VERY difficult live!
March 16, 200619 yr She keeps claiming it was live, but like you said, who cares, it's understandable either way
March 16, 200619 yr Author I was sure it was live, but the studio version sounds identical, so I'm still not positive...
March 16, 200619 yr Author Ya, I remember thinking it was her most amazing performance live. If it was mimed, she's very good at it, especially considering she never does!
