I wouldnt class the Circus album weak by any shapr or form, im fact i would go as far to say it has been their most solid album musically, however it didnt produce their strongest set of singles. Furthermore, the planning and the marketing of the singles was handled appalingly. In terms of marketing an album and marketing strategies Beautiful world was certainly handled the strongest.

The Circus is a brilliant album and is my favourite Take That album to date, i just love it and still do, i know many dont agree but for me it will be very very hard to top it.
Beautiful World is my favourite, followed by Everything Changes. The Circus is a great album and had a motif and a constant theme running through each song in varying degrees of reference but the BW album to me is fantastically written and put together. It sort of nods to the past and then aims to whatever the future has in store whilst showing the emotions of failed solo careers, fatherhood and learning about each other again. Its very raw in that respect with stunning singles, fantastic album tracks; and to me it just shows how grateful they are to be making music again and being given a second chance.

I do love Beautiful World myself as its a solid album and was a brilliant comeback, but the Circus just hit with me more and i enjoyed it as a whole where sometimes i didnt feel the same about Beautiful world. I have said before though, with the excpeion of nobody else ( which i do like in parts) i have enjoyed all their albums, and some of the non single tracks are just brilliant so i have every faith that the next album wont disapoint either.
Would agree all round about solid good albums, and like yourself, Nobody Else although excellent in some parts remains my least liked album by them. They always make solid cohesive albums and i must add they never make the same album twice.

More or less a runaway win for rule the world. I hope the new album contains a track as huge as this. Then again i have to say they really have come up with some excellent singles and album tracks over the last 6 years. I am dying to hear what sound they go with on the next album though.
I'm hoping for a BW style album. If robbie can have a huge number with Candy then there's no reason why TT can't have a singles era like BW again

True, and considering Gary co wrote Candy it can hopefully come up with a another Take That number 1. Take That just need to make sure they get the promotion right for the singles if they so that they could get another number 1 to their name in the singles chart.
I wonder whether radio 1 will support their new material...now chris moyles is gone it might be different. Every single from progress/ed was play listed, flood and kids were a listed for quite a few weeks. But after they said that they weren't going to support Robbie because 'he is too old' for their listeners (even though he has the third biggest selling number 1 this year) I wonder whether they will turn their backs on TT

Hopefully they wont but radio 1is notorious now for ignoring older acts so its likely they could do the same to Take That.
This been too old thing is simply ludicrous, a good song is a good song regardless of the age of the person or people singing it. Surely if Take That come up with a good song it should be played. That said, who am i kidding, Robbie's candy is extremely radio friendly and they are not playing with it, surely they must feel something is wrong when they are not playing a song that is number 1 and number 1 with extremely decent sales.

I don't get how they can get away with such age discrimination lol. BBC got a rollicking over their age scandal but yet their radio station gets away with whatever? Ridiculous, I don t like grimshaw anyway. Did anyone else read how he invited himself to Jonathan Ross' Halloween party and didn't introduce or say thank you to any of his family.

I agree, its total ageism and how they are allowed it beyond me, to make it worse they openly tell people thats why certain artists wont get played.
Yeah exactly! You could easily argue that Adele's depression songs arent relevant to their audience either which they state as being teenagers! If they playlist Madonna or Coldplay then surely that will make them look like a joke!

I can half-way see where they're coming from to be honest (although with Robbie and Take That I think this Grimmy fella is just trying to be 'controversial' about something that is neither here nor there).

I remember a few years back in 'Q' there was a huge article on how Radio 2 had now become the Radio 1 for certain acts. And to be honest - if you listen to Radio 2 these days (although I actually liked it way back too) it is much more preferable to Radio 1. You actually get to hear more music on Radio 2 whereas on Radio 1 you get mainly DJ's talking through their arses mainly about themselves (and I'm including Chris Moyles in that remark too). I remember once listening to an hour of Chris Moyles - and he played about four records in that one hour - the rest was him talking out of his back passage. This is why I scarcely listen to either. I'm all into local radio (commercial and BBC). The only mainline BBC station I listen to is Radio 4 for the comedy panel shows.

I agree Kath, grimshaw isn't really doing himself many favours. TT are bigger than Coldplay here so I would expect TT to make the playlist still as Coldplay are on it atm

I much prefer radio 2 as well, I'm sure I also read that somewhere, as well as a story how radio 2 has more listeners now!
