So who was the last person to do it that the article refers to? Christina did it in 1999 which is 10 years ago. Beyonce did it in 2003.

Beyoncé doesn't count because she topped the chart as a member of Destiny's Child before her solo career has begun.

Lady GaGa hits No.1 with "Poker Face."

April 01, 2009 04:06 PM ET

Silvio Pietroluongo, N.Y.

Lady GaGa becomes the first artist in nearly ten years to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with their first two chart entries, as "Poker Face" jumps 2-1. The New York native, born Stefani Germanotta, previously led the list for three weeks with "Just Dance" in January.

The last performer to launch with a pair of Hot 100 chart-toppers was Christina Aguilera, who reigned with "Genie in a Bottle" (1999) and "What a Girl Wants" (2000). Among women, Lady GaGa is only the fourth female artist in the last 25 years to open with a pair of No. 1s, joining Aguilera, Mariah Carey (1990) and Tiffany (1987).

"Poker Face" also moves to the head of Hot Digital Songs, where it shifts 206,000 downloads in its 14th week on the chart, and rises 6-5 on Hot 100 Airplay.

Sort of funny because the last we all heard of Christina Aguilera, she was in trouble for blatantly ripping off GaGa last fall, claiming to have no idea who "it" was (Lady GaGa), and then promptly disappearing after a lackluster comeback single essentially flopped.

Britney's second week, when she 'only' did 200K!

Flo's version was removed for like half a day. But, you have to think, he had to work his way up, for hrs was losing the top 10 boost. Also, you have to factor in the losing No.1 boost, and GaGa gaining it, because the no.1 song is advertised all over different sites, lol...aka, not with the rest of top 10, and people would download that.

Britster is right, this is the biggest cock up, which has caused a different no.1, then what it would have been!

Was it definitely not available as download for 12 hours?

I agree though, even if it was only "changed/replaced" (instantaneously), that he will have lost the "top 10 boost" and the "#1 boost", which will have impacted on sales. Not much, but will definitely have impacted.

I thought it was less than 12hours tbh.

I know right  Although to be fair that single was just for Greatest Hits; She's back with a real single and album in summer and autumn respectfully.

Yep, it was not available...and iTunes will be issuing an apology, cos they cost him no.1.

You do the math, if he had sold, just 8, 000 more, he would have stayed at no.1! Both songs were selling over 25, 000 a day....he is removed, and unavailable for 12 hrs (I actually heard it was actually 1 or 2 more hours).....then has to work back up.

The most telling thing, is if you compare the bars from the Tuesday and Wednesday, Flo Rida's lead had actually increased by a couple of bars, lol before his accidental deletion!

FYI, the lost of both of those things and being unavailable, would easily have cost him, in excess of 25k over the whole of rest of the week.

The truth, is GaGa is lucky to join the greats like Mariah in having this record!

why would they apologize? lol

people can go to OTHER sites and download there

It dominates the US market!

And, as has already been mentioned, when the same happened to Britney....she was issued an apology!

Flo Rida, will receive his too! ^_^
