July 26, 200915 yr Thanks for the vids Sunday - but it's telling me that it's a private video on two of them - the Letter and TMTW  Here's my report: SET LIST - not in order apart from the first and last two: (Think I've remembered them all ) Them Changes Switch It On Love I Won't Give Up LIAMOD Friday's Child Changes Y&I Who am I Your Game Are you Happy Grace Let It Go Tell Me The Worst remix Encore The Letter Leave Right Now We arrived around 1.30 and sat in the car for about half an hour - small group of girls in the queue(about 6) At 2pm I said we had better start lining up and my son said it's not 2.30 yet. I told him - how long do you reckon that queue will be by 2.30 :P Within a few minutes of us joining the queue people arrived in droves carting cool boxes seats rugs - one person even had their festival trolley laden with all their stuff  The let us in at 2.30-ish with several different queues being let out together so made a quick dash to the front. Managed to get second 'row' behind the 'barrier' they had put up - god alone knows why they didn't let everyone settle down the front from the off  People pouring in all afternoon - there had to be at least 10,000 even allowing for the rugs and tables - stretching back as far as the eye could see. We had a great little soundcheck - people standing around the sides of 'no man's land' - as described before. He joked about his outfit for the evening - an all-in-one and riding boots :P and one of the girls (Michelle) asked him if he was going to slick his hair down. He said should I or shall I leave it like this and ran his hand through it accompanied by shouts of yes leave it like that.He laughed and said "Audience participation" It was hilarious about the letting down of the barrier during the soundcheck. The girl in front of us - sorry I didn't get her name - was holding on to the tape and about 5-ish suddenly let go of it with a cry of "Oh" the little minx had broken it and was holding on to the two pieces - of course mad dash to the barrier - Will was like :o and cracked up. Still managed to get 2nd row to the right of centre stage. The support we discovered after they had brought their gear on stage was Phantom Limb. I liked them, a bit 'country' souly - can't really pin it down. The only 'downside' was the lead singer - big buxom girl wearing a black bustier and black feather skirt (didn't do her any favours at all) She was a bit shouty/screechy but had a good voice. All the musicians sang too - a couple of the lads were quite dishy I thought. Will came on about 8.30ish. Bounded on stage - outfit you know from previous posts vids etc. . It was a beautiful jacket but it had heavy epaulettes and was too heavy so he removed it. How beautiful is our bloke - he seems to have lost that little bit of beer belly he had - lithe tanned gorgeous  Fantastic set - great vocals throughout - enthusiastic vocal crowd. We were treated to two of his back bends with resultant show of brown belly. He pulled the front of his shirt/waistcoat down a few times claiming a 'wardrobe malfunction' - Yeah right He also did a spontaenous song with pm poms - I got a bit 'physically abused' during that :( Someone held up a banner saying "Will you sing at our wedding". He asked when they were getting married and they said "next year". Oh I'm going to be on holiday then he said A bit later he said "Ok I'll do it when is it?" "Any time you're ready" was the reply  Unfortunately there was a bit of downer before the evening started. Helen was parked over to the left of us - happy where she was but unfortunately after we had positioned ourselves the security guards pushed two girls in their wheelchairs into the little crowd saying that they had to be there at the barrier - what the **** No area seems to have been set aside for them !!!! A right old argument ensued with one of the women saying - quite rightly - that they really weren't happy being there with all the crush of people who would undoubtedly gather when Will came on. The woman who was complaining the most said that they had been told to arrive early - before the house opened - and consequently had to pay £7. to park - even though they were there for the concert! The girl who was with them said that they had made specific requests and hadn't been told in advance where the special area was to be - no wonder because there wasn't one! Absolute disgrace. My husband was disgusted and went off to see if he could help with sorting something out for them. Apparently, he told me afterwards, that the security guard has told him they couldn't corden off a section for the women because it would have broken their contract! But - the happy outcome was he eventually sectioned off a bit just to the right of the stage by the barrier. There was a bit of a kerfuffle later with some woman wanting her daughters(?) to be allowed to push to the front - wrong move :o On the whole, apart from those two, we had a great crowd around us. It was lovely to hear people singing along to WAI and LRN  Someone asked for his towel and he said he would, but later - it will be disgusting by then I'm sweating  He changed for the encore and threw his cardigan(?) into the audience at the end, gave his towel as promised and Gerry gave someone the set list I think. Ash threw his drumsticks into the crowd and they all took three bows. Will was absolutely loving it all - and so he should - one of the biggest crowds of their season so far I should think. Fabulous gig - beautiful day, beautiful surroundings -great band - beautiful man -   P.S. Oh just remembered someone threw a cuddly toy up onto the stage - haven't seen that done for ages PPs - Rupert up on the side of the stage taking piccies. Just adding this clip - Those girls wouldn't pass them down they wanted to give them to him themselves . They barged down the front - knocking me over backwards The girl did apologise and they retrieved them and went back to their place. Oh and you can see the cuddly toy on the speaker. His ad lib songs are fabulous. Thanks to Ali on D for the clip: Gail has put up some fabulous pix on D and the O/S: here and here http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/gail132/Audley%20End%202009/9-1.jpg This was a text from Audley: "Apparently he is only 1 of 3 to be sold out with 10,000. He's very popular I was told!" Awww  Edited July 28, 200915 yr by munchkin
July 26, 200915 yr Thanks so much for the clips Sunday & your report munchkin. Nothing much to add. A truly magical evening confirming once again why I am a fan of this incredibly talented man. Never doubted Will would attract a sizeable crowd but I was amazed at how many were there, surely 10,000 at least. He looked so thrilled to see so many there just for him. I wonder if Will was testing the waters with this gig & we will get a few more of these summer concerts next year. At least I hope so. Edited July 26, 200915 yr by truly talented

July 27, 200915 yr Thanks for all the great reports and great videos. His energy leaves me gasping. :o Yesterday I watched the PI Tour video. After seeing the Audley End vids I hardly believed it was the same person who, way back then, so tentatively tried to entertain. Now he's a master at it. :yahoo:
July 27, 200915 yr I've added comments about the gig to our Artist news page, if anyone else would like to leave comments.
