Nina's fine and still reads the forum when she has time.

Not deleting things is my biggest problem, Sue. The hard drives are filled to bursting., even after I'd deleted one 10GB vide

You know how sketchy my knowledge of computers is, but can't you put some things on DVD, then delete them ?

The ones over 4 gb wont go and my pc doesn't seem to want to split them. I also find that dv ds can disappear far quicker than my pc can. I also just like to keep the originals in the format they are loaded on.
How many extra hard-drives can you put on a computer ?
depends on how many usb ports you have. You don't have to keep them attached, only use them when you need to access their information.

A memory stick is good to store certain things....like photographs or documents.

I got my son a 16G one for just over £16 via amazon

So Meg, won't another hard-drive or memory sticks solve the problem ?

I alrerady have two. Memory sticks don't work on this pc. I don't like external harddrives because I've known people who've had them working fine for a couple of years or so and then they have just stopped working and the saved data has been lost.. What I need is a new pc - for 2009 and onwards.
