May 24, 200916 yr Tonight's show proved once and for all that children should not be allowed to compete with adults. Natalie was nowhere near as good as when she did No One, hence she deserved to fail to get through. But seeing her cry was painful to watch. Diversity were excellent. But Susan Boyle after her very nervous first line was close to brilliant. I'm a total cynic with regards to Simon Cowell/Max Clifford orchestrated shows. But she was just too damn good, genuine and emotionally heart warming on Andrew Lloyd Webber's greatest song that makes It's My Time seem like Dance Tonight compared to Yesterday in the Paul McCartney canon.
May 25, 200916 yr Faces of Disco were fabulous! Hot. Last night: Diversity - tight performance; in spite of preference clearly being given to Flawless they deserved to go through! Sue Son - I thought the likeability thing was a bit harsh; she did well but couldn’t stand out of the crowd. Darth Jackson - You know what?! When they made a big thing about him showing who he was I thought it was going to be someone famous taking the p*** like Keith Lemon. In any event the reality like the performance was rubbish. :/ Natalie Okri - totally the wrong choice of song, it wasn’t comfortable viewing when Simon chose Diversity, glad that there’ll be one less kid in the final though. Julia Naidenko - boring. Nick Hell - haha they just put him through so they could buzz an act off in the semis for the drama. Susan Boyle - excellent performance taking into account the expectations.
May 25, 200916 yr Fake 'N' Good Amanda Holden lets rip on BGT hopefuls BGT BEAUTY ON WHO'S HOT AND WHO ARE JUST LUKEWARM TOUGH-talking Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has revealed the acts she's tipping to be hot contenders - and lukewarm losers - as the hit show gears ups for its climax this week. Speaking exclusively to the News of the World, the fiesty telly beauty gave us her favourites from the final 40 - revealed to viewers last night - and SLAMMED two of the singers tipped for the top. Even West Lothian sensation Susan Boyle didn't escape a dig as Amanda warned: "She'll be an instant international superstar - but I don't think she'll have longevity." Nervous pizza delivery man Jamie Pugh was also blasted for FAKING emotion at his first audition. He sang Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, then blubbed after getting a standing ovation. But despite putting the 37-year-old Welsh warbler through, Amanda revealed she's now changed her mind. "He got on my t*ts," she raged "I didn't think he was genuine. I didn't believe his emotion and I hated his voice. He sounded like a car starting. "We all said, 'Yes' to him on the day so I feel terrible for saying it, but my heart's not in that performance." The 38-year-old - who sits on the judging panel with Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan - also dismissed surprise soprano Greg Pritchard after his high-pitched rendition of Nessun Dorma. "He's spooky. I liked it for the weirdness of thinking he's going to be a rock guy. "But apart from that I think it's one trick. And that trick's gone as soon as he's opened his mouth." There were a few acts that did get the thumbs up from Amanda - and she gives her top ten below. No surprise that Susan, 48, made the cut. Amanda said: "I keep thinking, 'Thank God we put her through!' We might not have. "There were so many brilliant people who didn't make it." Near Susan's home in Blackburn, local supporters have been preparing for her appearance in tonight's semi-final. At Blackburn Social Club, event organiser Joe Stronach, 65, said: "We'll have a big screen in the function room so punters don't miss a minute of her performance. "She'll be great because she is a natural talent. We have heard her singing here for 20 years. "It's exciting to think the world will be watching her tonight." The local community education centre is also hosting a Britain's Got Talent Party. Caretaker Derek Knox, 30, said: "We are expecting a huge turn out. Everybody here will be wishing her the best of luck." But Amanda reckons Susan may need more than that to clinch the title. The mum-of-one warned: "She could nail it or kill it. She might not be as good as she was that first night and people put that performance on a pedestal. "We've built her up and the public could go, 'She's too big for her boots, she's too cocky.' She isn't. But we don't like too much success. It's a shame. "Whether she wins or not, I am sure she's going to have a record contract with Simon and go on to greater things." She added: "But this world is fickle. We pick people up and spit them out just as quick. We move on very fast. But who cares? She won't. This is more than she ever dreamed of." She also dismissed rumours Susan's appearance on the show was a fix, saying she'd no idea she'd turn into such a big star. She shrieked: "To be honest I forgot about her! My husband clearly remembers me coming home from Glasgow and saying, 'Oh my God! We found a female Paul Potts but she's even better.' But after that I never mentioned her again. I couldn't believe the controversy about her being a conspiracy. We were hoping for gold and we found it." Amanda added that the talent BGT found this year had been huge - even without Susan Boyle. The nation is set to be gripped by a week of live semi-finals before the final on Saturday. Amanda reckons it will give a much-needed boost to a country reeling from the credit crunch and political scandals. "It's stop-the-country telly," she said. "This is a weird time in Britain. Gordon Brown has taken over at the worst possible time. "The country is on its knees so our kind of stuff is perfect." Amanda is training to be a midwife for a TV documentary - and has to be prepared for one of her patients to go into labour during one of the live shows. She explained: "I'm on standby to deliver a baby so I have to be ready everywhere I go. It's a nightmare. "But I can't wait for Piers or Simon to ask me, 'What did you do yesterday?' And for me to say, 'Oh, I delivered a baby, what did you do?'" After the final Amanda will fly to America to host CBS's breakfast show - and she's got Susan to thank. "For the last 15 years I have gone to LA for weeks every year and had loads of screen tests and many near misses that you just don't talk about. I was nearly a Bond girl once. "Then I met my husband and had a baby and my priorities changed. But I never let go of that dream. "So I am definitely on the Boyle bandwagon now." But for Susan's next-door neighbour Margaret Smith, 60, the fact the nation has fallen in love with her is no surprise. She told us: "Susan is such a nice person, which is why everybody has taken to her. "I wished her good luck before she left for London - I hope she wins so we can all get together for a party." SUSAN Boyle will return to the BGT stage tonight - seen by an expected 14million viewers to make it the most watched TV show of the year. Show bosses have kept secret details of her semi-final act but we can reveal it will be a hit from a big musical - but not from Les Miserables like her I Dreamed A Dream debut. An insider said: "Her performance today is again expected to send shockwaves around the world. People from virtually every country will be watching to see what she does." The 48-year-old, dubbed SuBo, has become a global phenomenon after her clip appeared on YouTube. But Susan admitted yesterday: "Until six weeks ago the only 'tube' I knew of was a tube of Smarties! I'm very nervous, I can't believe I'm in the semi-finals."

Diversity - I agree, they deserved to go through and I preferred their act to that of Flawless - we'll have to see what Flawless come up with tonight (well, tomorrow, when I've ssen the recording as I'm out tonight! Sue Son - the likeability thing was very harsh - she played to the crowd as much as she could, with smiles and all - what did Simon expect her to do while playing the violin? Darth Jackson - I was expecting exactly the same when he was "unveiled". Sadly, it seems, he was for real and should never have made it to the semis.
May 25, 200916 yr I agree Simon was very harsh on Sue, I thought she was fairly likeable. ^_^ It's a pity she didn't make it as she has a great talent
May 25, 200916 yr Here are my rankings: 01. Sue Son - Incredibly talented and she looked SO SEXY, really was impressed, one of the few to improve on their audition 02. Diversity - Innovative, interesting, creative - both these top two acts 10/10 03. Susan Boyle - Started badly but pulled it back. Despite saying there was no pressure, there will have been. I think she lived up. 04. Faces of Disco - Had never seen these before, thought it was hilarious, don't know if it'd have had legs 05. Natalie Okri - Disappointing compared to her audition but I think she did it as well as Addictiv Ladies on X Factor 06. Julia - I mean it wasn't bad but I think sometimes less is more. Interesting that I found Sue a hell of a lot sexier. 07. Nick Hell - I cringed, I couldn't watch, I'm glad it never finished 08. Darth Jackson - Just awful. What?! Never seen him before. And glad. I am not convinced Jamie will get through tonight - expecting Shaun or Flawless to win it, Jamie may well make third but with Amanda not a fan I'm hoping he won't get through..
May 25, 200916 yr This whole Susan Boyle farce is RIDICULOUS, yet another set up by Cowell  She'll cruise to victory even though Diversity were far superior last night alone.
May 25, 200916 yr DJ Talent was alright, not amazing I really liked Merlins act, it was kinda scary wondering if he was going to fall on his head, but I doubt it will have been enough to excite people enough to pick the phone and vote for him :(
May 25, 200916 yr Amanda Holden = What is the point of having her as a judge? She is even more useless than Paula Abdul on American Idol IMHO.
May 25, 200916 yr Well the best bit of that was When I Grow Up. Yawn fest. Hot Honeyz = A UK version of the Pussycat Dolls minus an F1 WAG!
