sooo our friends in japan and norway are pushing to allow the hunting of whales again <_<. apparently they reckon that whales dont need protection and that they damage fish stocks! lol..

whales are gentle, intelligent creatures whos numbers are miles below the levels they should be at as some rather barbaric countries insist on killing these creatures.

now i know that some people rely on whales for their very survival, fair do's, but countries like japan really dont need whales for food.

whaling has to be one of the most barbaric ways to farm any creature, especially ones as peaceful as these.

your thoughts?

Can't disagree with a word there

Whales are wonderful creatures and should be left alone

And whales main diet is plankton not fish so they have no justification there either

Edited by Ozzy Osbourne

Damage fish stocks?? What nonsense. They eat plankton! If you ask me, the people who made this argument as justification are the ruddy plankton..... <_<

You're right, there's no justification for it. The Japanese barbarically kill sharks as well, just to get the fins..... <_<

There's no actual demand for whale meat in Japan either.

Wish they were plankton Scott ;) then the whales could eat them and we would never have to listen to such ignorant tossers again
Whailing is cruel, and should be stopped. I understand that some people need whales for their survival but whales are gonna end up extinct very soon which would be a shame.

I'm shocked at the Norweigans  they should listen to the British! They are our friends after all! ^_^

On the original topic, I hate the fact that people find them any sort of threat, they are wonderful creatures. :)

There was an article about it in the newspaper today

Definately no need for it, and it takes surprisingly long for these whales to die!

Japan seem to be the worst offenders too!

Iceland also want the ban lifted as well
It's utterly barbaric. Another creature that is in danger of extinction due to humans
