Shaun is publicising his role of Ron Freeman in the Take That musical Never Forget.

When D is involved in something new let's hope he will have the opportunity to publicise it.

Roll on the day!

It's very true the saying "Out of sight, out of mind." I was talking to a friend who I used to work with the other day and we got talking about Darius because they used to tease me at work for liking him. She wanted to know why you don't hear anything about him these days and asked does he not perform anymore?? She wasn't even aware that he had appeared in GWTW and asked why it wasn't given more publicity at the time!!! Sue
I think D has had a problem with poor publicity for a long time.

He was exallent. I liked all the leadfs. I saw Loise in 'Cinerella' and that just re enforced my opinion of herher quality.

Darius just didn't have much time to publcise GWTW. What with working 16hr days and having a diferent show each night, I think he did remarkably well to cover the pub licity he managed to do. It was a shame that there wasn't enough in the budget to cover more but, that was then and now is now, so I'll try and stop worrying about it and look forward to the next thing. It did make me so cross at the time that so few people I met even knew it was on.

At the Music Week Awards 2009 at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday, neither Simon Cowell nor Simon Fuller

won an award. The UK Music Executive of the last 50 years was awarded to Chris Blackwell.

Thank goodness for that Bramley. Regarding Ds personal profiole in the media etc perhaps he doesnt employ an agent but he needs to do something to keep himself in the public eye. Really I think some of us could do a better job generally. Today I met a lady who bought a book from me by Ben elton on the x factor story etc etc so I asked her if she watched pop idol and she did and loved D. She was all prepared to go to see GWTW (Saw the pictures of D in the role and thought he looked gorgeous)but before she had a chance to go it was cancelled and she was upset. She couldnt understand why it was cancelled so I gave her the lowdown and she was v ery surprised. I really think the damage was done BEFOREHAND with constant running down of its length and the fact that the writer was outside of the industry they had made up their minds.

Is D on Facebook. just wondered as their is a thread appearing on WOS asking for theatre performers facebook links and it would bed good promotion for him. I wouldnt have a clue about linking am so dim where computers are concerned.
Yes he is, Preston, but I can't put the link up either.

In an article about Britain got talend, Darius is listed here as a success along Gareth on stage. :D

We shouldn't be too cynical, though, because there is success to be had for some of the winners. Paul is one of the talent show stars who has certainly done well. Will Young and Leona Lewis have also stuck crampons into the top 10 and stayed there; others such as Steve Brookstein and David Sneddon have taken the toboggan ride to obscurity. Others have survived on stage: Darius was last seen in a West End production of Gone with the Wind and Gareth Gates has been Joseph.

Thanks Hasso.............. lovely to hear that some of the media appreciate D and G.

(Sounds like one of my favourite perfumes !!!!!!!)

So many people I've met since just didn't know he was in it. There was so much sniping about Margaret's lack of experience in theatre that a firm path of critism was in plaqce before the first show. I would rather have had Darius doing the interviews out of character but that's what the professionals chose to do. I'm really sorry you didn't get to see the play, it's one I would return to even without Darius or Jill in it - that's if they could find anyone as good as they were.

Good as Jill was i n the part, I think a stronger name be it american or english would have given a better balance promotion wise i.e. Although I am an avid theatregoer I had not heard of her apart from reading she was in the woman in white (also closed early) and presumably she didnt have a large following over here. although a lot of shows dont have "Names" I think in this case it would have been an advantage for such a standout part b ut in spite of that the dye was cast beforehand.
