April 8, 200916 yr Author you mean like russel brand? He's smart enough I suppose, but he spoils it with his rather childish attention-seeking, and attempts to rip off the likes of Bill Hicks, Rob Newman or Eddie Izzard..... There was one thing that he did recently that I liked - his joke about putting his £150k fine on his BBC expenses, a very direct reference to the whole Jacqui Smith/Geoff Hoon affair which I did think was rather good..... With Brand, there is the potential for improvement, I'm sure with time Brand is likely to grow out of his childishness, Jonathan Ross on the other hand, is just an irredeemable turd who has NEVER been any good, a totally, fatuous waste of oxygen and licence payers money.... Frankly, in retrospect, I blame him far more than Brand for "Sachsgate".....

April 8, 200916 yr The press should leave jade out of the papers now and try and let the family get back to whatever is normal for them after what has happened, i can see why parky said what he said as many do agree and like many things in life there is a love and hate side, personnaly i diagree with him as i was a jade fan, my main disagreement with parkinsons comments was his timing, yes he is entitled to his opinion like us all but he could have at least left those comments untill a month if not more after her funeral and i think its for that reason alone that people have turned on him many believe his comments came at a very sensitive time and thats what i deem uncalled for.
April 8, 200916 yr theres been loads of complaints sent to him over the past view days, his PA has been saying it's been hell through Facebook ;o

Well, first of all you say the press should leave Jade out of the papers and then complain about Parky's "timing", and say he should wait a month or so before writing his article.... A slight contradiction.... I think if he had waited for a month, you'd've accused him of "dredging it up".... I think Parky's comments should really be seen as a post-script, I think now that he's said what he's said (and let's face it, he's put the whole thing into a very sharp perspective..), and he IS a long-time respected media figure (certainly considerably more respected than the likes of Clifford or Piers Morgan), then I think we should all just move on and forget Jade, and by extension, forget the whole "celeb culture" disease which has infected our culture....

April 9, 200916 yr Bishop hits out over Goody outburst April 9, 2009, 8:53 am The bishop who presided over Jade Goody's wedding has leapt to the late reality TV star's defence after Sir Michael Parkinson claimed that she came to represent "all that is wretched about Britain". Bishop Jonathan Blake from the Open Episcopal Church has admonished the 74-year-old broadcaster for putting the "boot in to a young woman so recently buried". Parkinson, writing in the Radio Times days after Goody's funeral, described her as "barely educated, ignorant and puerile". "When we clear the media smokescreen from around her death, what we're left with is a woman who came to represent all that's paltry and wretched about Britain today," Parkinson wrote. In a robust retort on his blog, Bishop Blake argued that Goody, who died of cervical cancer at the age of 27, had risen from humble beginnings to achieve an "immense amount" in her short life. This, he said, was due to "her inherent gifts and untutored intelligence". Parkinson also claimed Goody was "the perfect victim of our times", adding that she "died to an orchestrated chorus of exploitation". "Jade Goody has her own place in the history of television and, while it's significant, it's nothing to be proud of," Parkinson wrote. "Her death is as sad as the death of any young person, but it's not the passing of a martyr or a saint or, God help us, Princess Di ." Source: www.au.yahoo.com This is the 6th biggest story on Yahoo Australia. Two places above Cheryl Cole topping some form of best dressed list. :manson: I fail to see how this is relevant in Australia seeing as nobody knows who Jade Goody was, and nobody knows who Cheryl Cole is! They don't get our version of the X Factor and GA epic failed at releasing over here. I wish they'd just leave her alone so i could stop having this $h!t forced into my face over 10,000miles away <_<

Unbelievable..... It has to be the biggest amount of saturation coverage on a single issue since the reportage of the first two weeks of the bloody Iraq War..... Because, yeah, Jade was THAT important..... The articles by Parky and Will Self are a tiny minority of the Anti-Jade (Inc) circus created by the likes of Clifford, The Scum and the News of the Screws....

April 9, 200916 yr Author no i meant his PA has been complaining via facebook how many complaints there has been lol. Some people just cant handle the honest truth about this whole affair..... If they weren't so short-sighted or ignorant, the complainers would see that Parky and Self are objecting far more to the "Jade Inc" media circus/business that's grown out of this whole sorry episode.....

The media circus should have been buried with her. It's not as if she was physically murdered and they're looking for a killer. Then maybe i could understand millions of stories about her. But she hasn't. If she'd have passed on two years ago there would have been one maybe two days of coverage before the press started dancing on her grave. It's amazing what the devil can do for his clients.

If she'd have passed on two years ago there would have been one maybe two days of coverage before the press started dancing on her grave. It's amazing what the devil can do for his clients. It would almost have been gone and out of the way by now, had Parky not have felt the need to say anything. Since then, it's been him "Jade-bashing", her supporters "Parky-bashing" and today it's Parky blasting the "Parky-bashers". He's just needlessly added to the circus. I said previously that I personally didn't think much of Jade - I've always had similar feelings toward Parkinson - I don't get why he's seen as a "respected media figure". The massive return of his chat show was nothing more than embarrassing, cringeworthy viewing which, to me, simply highlighted his overlooked ineptitude.

It's not as if she was physically murdered and they're looking for a killer. Then maybe i could understand millions of stories about her. Well when you see photos of someone sitting next to the grave reading the bible (tilted at an odd angle so that the title of the book can be clearly read) one wonders if some closely involved actually want the attention to end. Sorry - I've just realised how cynical that makes me sound but the book was tipped at an odd angle. I don't know ... maybe the relatives are being used now. April 10, 200916 yr Author I said previously that I personally didn't think much of Jade - I've always had similar feelings toward Parkinson - I don't get why he's seen as a "respected media figure". The massive return of his chat show was nothing more than embarrassing, cringeworthy viewing which, to me, simply highlighted his overlooked ineptitude. He's rightly respected imo, because he pretty much invented the whole "Chat Show" format in this country.... No Parky, no Wossy (well, mind you would that have necessarily been a bad thing.... ), No Wogan, no Paul O'Grady, no Graham Norton, etc, etc, etc...... The format itself has really had its day, granted, and Parky is certainly no "grand inquisitor" a' la Paxman or Humphries, but that doesn't detract from the fact that he pioneered the whole thing....
April 10, 200916 yr Author agreed..... if jade herself showed no sign of respect for herself then why should anyone else? Which has really always been my point..... :) I simply refuse to show any respect for her or this whole "Jade" business that's sprung up all around her... It's all just utter cr@p..... She's never even been a person really since the whole BB thing kicked off, merely a commodity, or a brand.... Even after death it seems, the brand name is still there....
April 10, 200916 yr Well when you see photos of someone sitting next to the grave reading the bible (tilted at an odd angle so that the title of the book can be clearly read) one wonders if some closely involved actually want the attention to end. Sorry - I've just realised how cynical that makes me sound but the book was tipped at an odd angle. I don't know ... maybe the relatives are being used now. Norma I personally haven't seen major amounts of coverage on her death, but since she passed on i've seen more stories regarding Jade Goody than i did when she was alive. Non of the Aussie papers really gave a stuff, but now she's gone it's all over Yahoo!7. If the book was titled so people could see the title, then money on you not being cynical and them having done it for effect.
April 10, 200916 yr Author I personally haven't seen major amounts of coverage on her death, but since she passed on i've seen more stories regarding Jade Goody than i did when she was alive. Spot on.... I mean, over 1000 press articles since her death... WTF????? I'm sure that's more even than Princess Di..... And we still have that sh!te being dredged up years later mainly thanks to Fayed and his ludicrous conspiracy theories, granted, but still..... I suppose if Jade is the "Princess Di from the wrong side of the tracks" as Stephen Fry rather ill-advisedly described her, we'll be having all these bloody "Jade" stories coming out for years to come from the tabloids..... <_<
April 10, 200916 yr I want this press crap gone by the time i return to the UK. I can't stand the tiny amount of coverage i have christ knows how bad it is for you lot back home, Today Goody has finally disappeared from the Yahoo front page for the first time in about 4days.
